Rub in some dish liquid, leave for 5-10 minutes hose off. Job done.

Dish liquid is a mild degreaser that does not eat rubber.

Spray on degreasers eat rubber if left in place too long.

I figure if I make rules about not riding in the rain for the first wee while until I get road and bike experience under my belt, then I should stick to them. Gotta stay safe whilst I am new on the road (and of course when I'm an old fart to). I can move to wet riding when I have more confidence in my own ability on the bike.If I'm not there - have lots of fun.
Your going about it the right way, confidence is the key, before you move to the next.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Goes to show how much I have to learn. I think i might need to do a few more of these exercises!!!

Any one can ride fast, that does not impress me, some of the skills shown by the other mentors has reminded me that I need to stop and take the time to relearn the basics. I might just be seen frequenting a few carparks in coming weeks.

Dan, I think you should tell the story before someone else does.

Right.... well no blimin guesses for what I managed to do....

Taking off in small groups for a short ride, after first group left I was told to lead the next group... *MISTAKE* ...first intersection... went wrong way, but managed to stay with group and rectify. Next one... indicated left.. went right.. everyone went left, my goup and I right... we got lost... ended up turning back... then I could smell burning rubber... stopped to find my front mudguard had bent downwards and rubbing on tyre... geesh... limped back to westgate... ...then ontop of all that, I see a past 'one-night-stand' sitting having a drink with some of her friends at miss q's.... that was a minty moment... thankfully she did not have the guts to come over!

let the jokes and sniggers begin.......

apparently he gets lost alot?? so everyone was just laughing and joking that he would get lost when doing that small redhill road.
to begin with, he indicated the wrong way at the round about. but i corrected him and we went the right way. (he was in front)
then we turned left opposite old north.
next road we need to turn left on you dont really turn left, you go straight, or you vear right to stay on the road your one (we wnat to go left)
so he indicates left, but still goes right? we all go right.
    and yeh.....

Yeah a bird that I picked up bout 4 months ago was sitting having drinks at miss q's ! ...it was a "coyote-ugly" moment - "I'd rather chew off my own arm than risk waking her". Im sure she had almost doubled in size since I last saw her! ...but I was very drunk
