Has it been riden yet or is it just going to be polished to death? The bike that is.

Well, it's not raining today and the sun is trying to peek through the clouds so I imagine they are out riding right now.

Sure will Sensei, There's about 6 of us here that I know of, I was thinking a ride up to Tokaanu (Turangi) for a weekend.via Parapara's/Nat Park, then we have a huge selection of great roads once we get there :-) Also Ive stayed at the complex up there and they are very accomodating for bikers
My internet access is limited at the moment but if any one is keen for the trip please pm me and we can start planning dates/routes etc.

Yep the weather finally cleared today so we left Tauranga at about 1pm and shot through to Waihi then through to Whangamata, around to Kopu,Paeroa and back here to Tauranga.
Don't know how many kms it was but it certainly passed it's first proper ride with flying colours....fark,now I need to go out and polish some more

I love that road from Whangamata to Kopu, its my favourate and the Aprilia seemed to love it too. Took a while to get used to the preciseness of this bike, it feels very ridge after the SV but not sure about settings of the shocks yet need to sus that out but Im not complaining at all. Because Im sitting much higher than the SV the lean on corners seemed much more exaggerated. The transistion in power is incredible smooth and quick to respond. Taking off in first gear in a hurry really lightens up the front wheel, it gets a new sprocket tomorrow so no doubt it will be even moreso. Need to get used to the cable clutch again too, which caught me out a couple of times when my hand/foot co-ordination was a bit out. Its a totally different riding style, seating position is more sporty and Im lying across the tank a lot more. Was really nice to get out on some dry roads and do a couple hundred ks, but it was soo muggy yesterday as soon as we stopped it was too hot in leathers to bear (only down side of summer motorcycling, oh and tourists). My only two complains are the hot vent just under the right leg, and the really dicky side stand, whats with that

Well even the expert/Official Aprilia shop agree they are dicky and have had incidences with them. Still, as I usually say, its not broke till it cant be fixed, so Im sure with a lot a Kiwi enginuity, and a bit of expertise we will get it sorted, any help greatly appreciated sir.
Took me beast for a run over the Kymies tonight then took the turn off at the bottom on the other side towards Rotorua. What a bike, its so simplictic yet complex, challenging yet easy. I managed to red line it several times in different gears, which is not something Im famous for, ever, its so sound on the road, Im wary of that being deceiptive, but its a really nice feeling, Im loving this bike so far, but only a few ks as yet so opinion still reserved. Mind you, I need to like it, just spent shitloads buying it, and this bike isnt going to be changed in a while, mind you, we said that about our last 6 bikes

    Congrats on the new bike......

Now... The last time I seen Chris he showed me a picture of a particular Aprilia....

Seems the picture was covered in... Some.. Erm dried something or rather... He swore black and blue that it was bolognaise.... I still don't believe it... Though he did taste test whatever it was on the picture...
