Sorry forgot 'Individualism' was not allowed in NZ.....now where is that thread that talks about 'Culture'.

Anyway, with about 20 or so Dialects, what is a typical 'POM'?

Another exercise in the futility of generalising people. What a crock, although I see opportunity in writing another book just to generate controversy over the inaccuracies of this one hhmmmmm.

Well, it looks like I'm an enigma - an almost 50/50split of North Shore and Cuba St - not normal to be Cuba St and over 40...
Does that mean I'm not normal???

Balclutha with strong side orders of Papatoetoe and Raglan.Touches of Remuera, Cuba St and Grey Lynn. Zero Otara and North Shore . Prolly about right, but it's highly simplistic

    That's the whole point Ixion.

BTW, what's the BDOTGNA position on "prolly"?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Well, we didn't need a quiz to tell us that! But I suspect that any biker would show some Cuba St characteristics, after all we are special, and non-establishment. North SHore, though. Oh dear, still you're still young, plenty of time to see the light.

Probably worthy of its own thread, that discussion:

Fear of fresh vegetables, rare steak, soap, running water, Germans, American sitcoms, Europeans...

Roman sandals AND socks. Braces AND belts.

An inate urge to line up behind two people facing the same direction. And to yell out "Ayyyy ludd!" at Russell Watson concerts and "Ayyyy luss! at Charlotte Church.

    A propensity to whine.

A sense of betrayal at being suboptimal performers at all sports invented in Pomgolia, with the exception of darts and Morris dancing...

I think that attempting to shoehorn "people"into eight categories is intellectually obtuse.... and that is probably why it stuck me in with the Grey Lynn crowd
