same speed about 164ish indicated probably 150-156 real speed... a well set up tuned/piped/jetted/de limited zxr250c with would do an indicated 200kmh+ if it could show it and if you work out rev/speed difference once it goes off the clock... they are about 8kmh out on the speedo at those speeds with 4% error. i have got close to redline which is a geared true 204kmh but you need a really nice place to do it, slight downhill will do it well. 2t eg nsr250 will do what 215-225 max with mods? cbr's will do similarish speeds to zxr with mods but i always pulled on them up top regardless ^_~
anyone got more than 120 on a gn250? that's the highest i've heard.. and heard the rider in question had speed wobbles and was crappin themselves haha
oh wow... interesting...
I've had a higher top than 1st speed mentioned... not a zxr... just a zzr *shrug*... was straight rd slight downhill however...
Its crazy to think that a gn250 top out 120 (not that thats a bad thing)... I would never have thought that until joining KB....
CRASHE.... What a kinda top speed for Virago250?
EDIT: Oh and it wasnt me in Te Rapa.... lol.... not my playground

The spada is rather a bit different form the vt250f, it was only made for about a year (1989) and has a completely different frame from the vf250f, its got the same engine though, which is the same motor theyve got in the new vtr250's. I got my old spada on the rev limiter in top gear slip streaming off a mate, speedo was indicating 170.
I'm surprised the cops didn't just ram him like they did me? If he's only doing 130-160k it won't be hard to ram something only going those speeds.
I wave to every biker I see.
The (old) VTF is a fully faired steel framed sportbike wannabee. They are slow and heavy and apparently the engines are not very strong.
The Spada was Jap market-only, produced 1988 and 1989, naked with a full-alloy frame and a high-performance engine. They were somewhat of an experiment by MrHonda, which turned out to be too expensive for the 250 market of the day, so were discontinued.
The (new) VTR is a similar creature to the Spada, except the engines are restricted in line with the practice since 1990, and the frame is similar in design to the Ducati Monster. Very nice bikes and highly recommended for the learner/restricted stage.
The Spada is TOP of the heap in the VT line, and don't let anyone tell you different. They are capable of 170kph (hXC's one was timed at that in the Wairarapa sprints at the end of 2005). VTR could possibly reach 160 but I doubt it.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
With regards to GN250 speeds - took a gps to a certain GN that had been run out of oil 3 times and generally abused and managed 132km/h on the flat on a pretty still day. My KR made 175.
the spada is the faster of the two
