Killing of Seal by Rider ....

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1/...ectid=10419380

Anyone want to own up to this? Whats the bet it was a 14 year old school dropout. Sure gives ALL motorcyclists a bad name though doesn't it. Wonder how many of you will get road rage tonight on the way home??

    Absolutely.

If it's overt cruelty to animals, people want to do damage to the perpetrators.

If it's the plastic rings off the top of a sixpack, slowly choking a seal to death in the Kermadec's, no one gives a rat's banana. At least this seal got euthanased.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Maybe the motorcyclist was trying to be humane by putting the sick seal out of it's misery.

Any of the complainants here ever stomp on a spider or spray insects with acid to have them die a horrible slow death just because they're mildly annoying? Or do different life forms have different care factors based on cute furryness?

They said the seal had to be euthanased... which means it didnt die when it was run over... so if the person on the bike was trying to 'put it outta its misery'... they only made it suffer more....

I don't want to open myself up for abuse, but I wondered the same thing!

I say this because of an experience I had when I was young and a car had driven through a flock of geese - seriously wounding many of them and they were flapping about on the road dying slowly. No one us knew how to wring their necks so we considered running them over to "finish them off". I was about 10 and riding a quad at the time...

If you were to put an animal out of its misery... that would mean it dying... in this case... it didnt... n thats cruel...

If running over the geese did infact end their suffering... then good on ya...

I totally agree and I'm not trying to condone this guy's actions!

I'm just suggesting it may have been an attempt at being humane.. IF he was doing it for genuine reasons (humane reasons), at least he tried to help the poor, suffering animal. If he was just being a bastard, then yeah, we should run him over.

A bit of a credibility stretch I'd suggest MotoGirl.
