My Spada is a 1988, and it's a VT250k Spada. No 'F' anywhere on any papers or rego.

don't be such a grumpy bugger gamgee.

Here's stuff on the VT250F here
. They were cool when they first came out. I remember they were quite zippy for a 250 V-twin at the time.

Those inboard brakes left me a bit cold but for the price I reckon its pretty sweet. With Pete helping you look at it you'll be sure to find out anything dodgy at all and despite its age, if its in good nick you should do all right.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I just parted with my spada, was a '89 (alloy frame), the earlier ones had steel frames.
The early ones can have a rust problem so check out the frame.
The motors do get rattly and down on power if not looked after
The fork seals or seal retainers also rust causing the seals to leak.
chains and cogs can give away a lot about how it has been riden as they are a very revy bike (about 9000rpm + at 100k's - just under rev for speed, 50k was about 4.5-5000rpm)
Mine showed 37 thou on the speedo but the numbers werent fully aligned so was probably played with. Was a good little bike, handles well, great on gas.
Only real problem I had on mine was wind as they are a light bike.
Oh and my bike had a tendency to run out of gas at intersections no fuel light or gauge but the tap is easy to find
We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

    No no no!

Spada's have an alloy frame! Always did have them! VT250f has a steel frame (I think), but not the Spada.

The letter F does not stand for anything - the Japanese just find it aesthetically pleasing (just as many Westerners think Asian graphics look cool).
If you hadn't noticed, they also like the look of the letter R.
    Quite alot.
