I expected he hadn't indicated at all (but then I'm from Auckland!) he didn't observe the 3 second rule thingumy then.

I've had a car vs me too - please accept my sympathy.

Even when in a car those people fuck me off that dont actually indicate until they're turning. Hardly ever see anyone on the roads now that actually follows the road rules.

And WTF is up with people indicating right to go straight through a roundabout?

    Bum bum and other stuff!

So glad that you have walked away from this "incident" a little bit sore and very much ok! Your bike will mend friend, it is a piss off at worst.

Was this car driver wearing a hat perchance?..........I find hat wearers the least skilled when it comes to basic road rules.

    take care eh?

Yeah I agree on wishing a speedy recovery on both you and the Bike.

It never ceases to amaze me that people think they are driving trucks and need to go way wide or cross the centre of the road before turning into their driveway, most of these maneuvers can be completed from the left hand side of the lane....and he wasn't driving as practical to the left as possible so I suppose he could be done for inconsiderate use or even careless use, failure to indicate with sufficient warning, don't know what else .....ahhh they should just do the pecker for being a complete toss....

I thought the law was to indicate your intended exit (same as any intersection) as you enter the roundabout, then indicate left as you leave the roundybout.

    Bummer

Glad to hear you are ok. The bike got of light too except it looks a little sick there.

If he didn't give a three second indication (sounds like he didn't at all) then he's stuffed. Thats why there is a three second rule.

Too many dumb bunnies out there turning as they indicate.

For those who query the roundabout rules, you indicate right if turning around the roundabout but if going straight through you don't. BUT; whenever you leave the roundabout, including straight through traffic you indicate left to show you are pulling off it and that goes for straight through traffic as well.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

No its not, you should never indicate right if you're going straight ahead, its just that 90% of people don't understand the road code.

Sorry to hear bout the crash mate. Glad you're ok though, any one you walk away from is a good one. Hope you get bike repaired and back running asap.

Finally someone who actually knows! Everyone bleated on about the law changing and roundabouts being confusing now etc but its always been the same.
