How much for Daisy? Well, as I can't actually afford 5k... something like this would be good:
    Noice.

    "'ow much for yer boike?"
"Oi dunnow - just send me a photo of a large wad of cash."
"Roighto then, that's done, when can oi pick it up?"

I think not somehow. Sorry for using you as an example to Chisanga - you were the first victim (ahem) person that sprung to mind.

    First... bwahaha...

Secondly, you have just ruined a perfectly good Scottish stereotype - any kilt wearer worth his sporran would have been able to deduce from a .63 second glimpse of that picture, that it was in fact US$1,000,000

I must say, I am (semi) flattered to be referred to as a person... makes me feel almost, human...

I know exactly where you are coming from ... same circumstances as me! I've only told my brother and neither my mum nor dad know

Now, my grandma..she has eyes like a hawk and even in her cancer fugue... commented when I visited her "You are moving rather stiffly...did something happen?" : Thank gosh I've been doing a hellish amount of manual labor for the family lately so I had a good excuse!

Sorry to hear about your incident, I'm in the process of sorting my bike out - but I won't be doing any insurance claiming (nice to know little two fiddys are "easy" to repair)

I guess both of us will be back to basics and getting our mojo back! Making haste slowly so to speak

Please, everyone, ride safely out there - ask yourselves those little questions ...

    - Have I done a full check on my ride lately?
    - How is the condition of my mental/physical state?
    - Is my gear up to snuff and is there anything I need to attend to ASAP?
    - Why am I riding today? Where am I going? Who knows what I am doing?
    - Am I feeling right? Any funny feelings/niggle that I can't explain?
    - When was the last time I practiced my emergency stops?
    - What's the weather like? Any info that I can call on to inform my planning?

I know I do most of those little mental checklists ... but I do confess, when I rode that day on my bin, I cannot recall doing anything remotely like that.

In fact, that was a warning bell, which I didn't hear ... three weeks not riding consistently? I should have thought once, twice, three times about it!

Sorry for the OT there! Just glad that someone else I know is okay from it all ...

-yep, rear shock has leaked most of its oil out (more bounce than a trampoline), mywater pump is leaking water and coolant directly infront of rear tyre, only "small amount of canvas is showing through on rear tyre, so its all good I just wont go over 180

    - How is the condition of my mental/physical state?

-sweet as just had a joint

    - Is my gear up to snuff and is there anything I need to attend to ASAP?

-those dents in my helmet just make it more streamlined (like a golf ball)

    - Why am I riding today? Where am I going? Who knows what I am doing?

-Shit not even I know that, y would some one else

    - Am I feeling right? Any funny feelings/niggle that I can't explain?

    -she'll be right mate !

    - When was the last time I practiced my emergency stops?

-Everytime I go out and have to avoid those stupid cages

    - What's the weather like? Any info that I can call on to inform my planning?

-I'm like the mother fuckn postie wind, rain, shine and snow

    Thanks

Trying to negotiate the terrors that are my insurance company... I think the only way they could have been less helpful is if they slammed the phone down on me.

Now I'm sitting here waiting for a call back, filling in forms and not sure what to do next

Shiny? Learning toy? You need a mighty GN my boy. Can't afford 5k? Psthorr, we wave our private parts at 5k.

For 5k you can have a brand new GN and enough money left over for approximately 100 dozen beers. Or, choose to go the 2nd hand route and get GNs off trademe that learners have 'grown out of' and you could get two of the mighty beasts.

Cheese Hanger. have you still got yer bike or do the insurance peeps need it to be down at Botany before they open their purse strings?

I still have my bike. Haven't heard nought from Insurance since I sent in my claim form on Wednesday.

Gonna fix up the instrument cluster tommorrow with tape and probably tape up the slave of my jacket as well for the ride on Sunday.

Then next week if I have my bike still I might try and locate Quasi and sort out some cows to cover myself in.

Quasi is easy to find, and it's a nice ride down there, he gave me good directions and suggested smaps.co.nz. Good gear too!

Family forum? Well, ok, too cold to wave them in 'Merka anyway...

Just had the appraisal done on my bike today.

Total cost approx. $5500. Holy crap i'm glad i'm insured and it was only 'cosmetic' damage.

I think the other dudes insurance company is gonna spit the dummy when they get the bill

That is a fair whack of moola! I think they will be spitting tacks for sure! The tragic thing is - you're still without a ride
