    Congrats on your bike.

    In answer to your poll.

A/ Freedom? I don't feel any more freedom since getting a bike. It's a pain in the arse when you have to get something of substantial size from A to B. Also feel persecuted wondering if every cop car is going to turn round and do me for speeding.
B/ Rebellion? Against who? I pay more road tax on the bike than I did on the car - I come from a country where motorbikes are the domain of the wealthy and middle aged.

I bought a bike coz I got fed up waiting 45 minutes each way in heavy traffic on the Southern motorway. I now get an extra 30 minutes' sleep in the morning! Yayeeeee.

    welcome
    I went for freedom....
freedom to leave all the daily stresses behind and concentrate on the ride!!freedom to enjoy hot chips and lattes in far away places!
freedom to express myself and feel confident with the wind at my back
    freedom ......

    Unhappy ???

That is a bit of a sad outlook?

Try taking a break from the monotonous day to day ride and
go for a tour along the coast or thru the countryside.

To me having a bike is all three:
-The pure freedom of the wind rushing past you and the feel
of the engine between ur legs, as cliche as that might sound.
-For me the rebellion against all those tin can boy racers out
    there, mates included.
-For the rest there is a whole list of things but to sum it up
there is nothing more beautiful the a BIKE!!!

But the is only my opinion, and it makes all those small restrictions
worth it in the long run.

Just a quick semantical pedantical point: does the Hy-ho-Silver GT250R really fill you with awe?

Congrats on the new ride... they're a good machine from what I've seen.

Re the best thing abot bikes... the fun and the people. Mostly social, mostly good sorts, and most extroverts. Never a bad combination.
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details
