Well, it is more a case of *old* and exciting roads. Some of the best roads are those which were once main roads but have now been bypassed. Anything with an "old" in the name (Old North Rd, Old Coast Road etc) is always worth riding.
State highways with a letter (eg 1a) are yusually worth a look also.

The map I use is one I have had for several years, I inherited from my father. It has quite a few roads marked on it that are not much used now. Always worth venturing down. Also any road that shows a town or village on my map that is not marked on more modern maps.

So why "last ride" then. Because the goverment wants to charge 10 grand to direct traffic? why not just do the charity ride anyway, dont even tell the cops and robbers (goverment) just turn up and ride. make lots of funds and donate it. Just my ten cents worth.

    Eastern riders

Plan at this stage is to meet at the BP by the driving range, past Botany South, at 9:15 with Nitzer and a mate. Then head up to BP Papakura to meet up with other KB riders then to Karaka. If this sounds like a plan for those out East then see you then.
If you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning

For any others meeting us there you go north along the northern m/way, off at Silverdale and turn right at the roundabout, straight through the next round (onramp to go south on Northern motorway), continue straight through the lights at East Coast Road (Plantbarn on the right), through the dip and up the hill. At the top of the hill you'll see the BP on the right hand side. You can't turn into the BP from that lane though. About 100m after the BP on the right hand side is a road where you will need to do a u-turn in order to get to the BP. Any questions? Disco, If you come and pick up Sunhuntin from my place in the morning you will be riding with me anyway so you don't need directions. (Awesome avatar by the way.....)

I thought everyone was being nasty when they say that you get lost so easily, but now I believe them.

What time are ya going to be there? Trish, "Roxanne" and I are coming down from Whangarei for this and, if we are close to ya meeting time at the Silverdale BP (yes I know where that is), we would like ta join ya.
PS: Don't wait for us if we are late as we will be heading straight to Parakura to make sure we are there in time.
