Great pics and vids! Even saw myself in a couple! Not too flattering, I'm with jttzr on this point...

Took a couple of pics and vids, not sure how they'll post, though...

Seems the vids are an invalid format.

Met some KB'rs, had a great ride. Agree was surprised at how fast it was! Guess they didn't want to hold up the traffic too long...!

Glad to hear it will be on again next year!

Let me know anything Kiwi Biker can do to help promote the ride. It's my favourite event of the year and will do anything I can to help out.

Wow!!!! what an awesome ride, just have to add my two pence worth, so many bikes....im really confused as what to get now once i surpass my dear wee ginny......
i was surprised at the speed which we went up there, thought it would be slow...got my t-shirt and ordered a badge......loved the support on the overbridges, i was tooting my wee horn as much as i could.
the scariest part was heading back south after the ride was over, thought i would be a good L plater and kept to the left lane, but found with people coming from the on ramps and speeding up and pulling in , i thought bugger it and found some nice space in the fast lane and the ginny went along nicely at 110km and found myself back at the karaka on ramp in no time at all, waiuku friends found me on the moterway and continued to ride with me, so we stopped for coffee on the way home.......a great day......cant wait for next year.....whos doing the toy run then????

    Cool

    Wohooooooooo what a ride..........

    I got a badge and a t-shirt..........

Disco_Dan - Bugger that you have binned your bike..... and its now broken

    But have you informed sunhuntin?
I was out at Wickedone's place until 8.15pm tonight and she didnt know about you not able to take her back to the airport in the morning at that stage.
In fact we were all chatting about that as I was getting on my bike to head home as you were going to pick her up at 9am.
She had her phone out at one stage and she took pics on her cell ph.

It might pay to contact her ASAP or organise someone to go and pick her up so that she doesnt miss her flight home.

Well I meet so many KBers today...... to many to mention. Nice to catch up with you all again.

I was up near the front of the ride....... and had fun..... waving with both hands to everyone on the over bridges and people on the side of the motorway......

Somehow the front group split apart from everyone else, after leaving the bottom of Queen street until everyone caught up again as we got to the bridge... not sure what happened there.

MahaMan - Indy's bike is a little sweetie.

Yep folks it is the first sportbike that I can reach the ground on with both feet. So imagine how he must look on it as he is so tall.

Yes indeed it was a good ride today, enjoyed it heaps more than last year simply becuase we a lot faster and not so hot. Thanks to warlock for getting a few mins of video of me on my bike youtube #5 and #6 …Shock horror...
Just hope it keeps on going next year. It’s a pity they ran out of badges and t-shirts today. I ended up with a t-shirt that was way to big for me so I gave it back and got them to order me “a” badge instead – an extra $10.00 can hurt as I did not want a refund for the difference. Im annoyed that TV1 didn’t show the ride on TV tonight, TV3 did but yet to see it, I guess Helen Clark and parliament members supporting gay marriages is far more important to her/him/it (wont be surprised if Helen will be next on the gay to be married list) and some old granny having a jump out of a plane. Apparently there was some flack on radio pacific this evening do to this not being shown by other riders and supporters. Seems the News does not want to show what good people do these days. Does not help the biker community/look.

Edit: It was also nice to see some KB faces again - I have not been on a ride for agers but hopefully that will change.. Maybe see you next week on the Battle of the Streets ride. Cheers

I think they were $3.50 Chips and hot dog were $6. The sausage was actually quite small there was an inordinately large layer of batter.I would rate them only 4 out of 10, but , as always, they have you over a barrel, since they are the only source of hot food. Fortunately, I had half a dozen V and a large packet of peanuts in the glove box, chocolate and water in the other glovebox, and beer and Pepsi in the panniers, so apart from hot food I was self sufficient.

I got in before the line grew so long. Fist thing at such places , dive for the food.

EDIT: I do not giggle. Giggling and tittering are effeiminate and unbecoming . A quiet chuckle or hearty guffaw much better befits a genteman. The late Lord Chesterfield had some very laudable observations on the subject of laughter, indited for posterity in the well known series of letters to his bastard son, perusal of which I always think worth recommending.

EDITY EDIT. It has been drawn to my attention that the original comment may have been intended as a salacious inuenndo. In that you are quite wrong, since The Dover did not attend. He and Maurice were otherwise engaged.

Very well prepared! I was slightly less prepared and had only a bottle of water, two bottles of Red Bull energy drink and a ice cream container full of musli bars. ...it was sort of like an 'adults, Big Day Out' ?

...dont wear jandels because of the mosh pit
...dont wear jandels because you will lose your feet in an accident.

so the article basically said, that the more bikes that turn up the less money Helicopter gets? ...that makes no sense. whats wrong with this world! (dont answer that!)

EDIT: "Daniel, youre talking again." "im what? oh.. SH*T"

It was just my standard provisioning. On the road one never knows what may befall one, especially when travelling in uncivilised parts.

A small toolkit, a morsel of sustenance, the wherewithal to build a good fire, such simple preparations can be invaluable in the event of unexpected delays. My touring kit is at present rather deficient since I was obliged, much against my will, to subbstitute Monteiths Black for the specified Speights. However, I console myself with the reflection that , in extremis, one must shift as best one can, and when stranded in barbarian lands, even the inferior Monteiths will suffice to avoid a fate worse than death.
