Sorry to hear about that, dan
I must say, before i got on a bike I hardly even thought about oil/ diesel on the roads... But now I see that it doesn't take much :S

dan...bugger dude! that coulda happened to anyone. just glad you are ok!
now for the honest truth, having pillioned for 2 days with disco....out of 6 guys ive ridden with, he is in the top 2. [the first being my partner, who taught me how to pillion] and as for him getting lost....i didnt mind in the slightest. for someone who hasnt been to auckland for roughly 10 years, getting lost is the perfect way to see things!
disco....let me know what parts you need, make model and year of the bike, and ill see what my mechanic/wrecker friend can find.

as for my bike? well need right hand mirror and right/front indicator... ...much appreciated!!!
ive had the fairings all off today to inspect the damage, and cleaned the engine while i was at it too. she's all back together now, and I took her for a spin around the block. Fought through the butterflies and was just thinking how confident i was after just falling off... ummmm wheres my brake lever gone? damit... yeah forgot to put it back on in my haste to take her for a spin. At least it forced me to lean right over for the corner as i could not brake very much...![]()

Hey Disco Dan
Glad that you are okay… we stopped to see if you were all good, we were in Red Commodore and pulled up on the grass next to you andh your three lady attendees who stopped to see if you were okay too. Yeah that oil slick started pretty much at the roundabout, so definitely the worst of it was there and then went on for about 500 metres along Riverhead Road towards Kumeu then they must have pulled over on the side of the road probably realising that their cage wasn't running so well. See ya

Rule of thumb - if it's shiney it's greasy.
Wet tar, diesel, water, road paint...
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details
Rule of thumb? thats a nasty one! ...that originated from teachers and husbands being able to hit their students/wives with a stick no wider than their thumb...
..great advice thoughNext time you see me, come park next to my bike, so my top box doesnt feel lonely
hehe

Ok after looking at the pics and which way the spill is going then I`d say the truck is from the Kumeu area or its come from just back down the road, theres an earthmoving outfit or two in riverhead and if you take the back road to Kumeu then theres a lot of trucks that park up just a bit further up.
But yeah Id say that spill was fairly recent like no more than an hour old, going by the fact that it hasnt yet seeped across the road and is to uniform as stated previously.
they might have been able to track that spill back to the truck if the fire or police had been notified immediately.
