CB400 fuel tap?

My old man is looking around on his bike (CB400 year 2000) for the fuel tap, he can't seem to find it?

Does anyone know if it has one/where it is?

also his indicators on the front seem to be staying on when the bike is on, like just glowing orange? :S

Ah...find a hose going UP from the bank of carbs, follow it to the source. That'll be the tap???

Some bikes have this feature. If the indicators indicate when the switch is activated, then it's not a problem.

Does the bike go? If not, then there's your problem right there. I mean, it's not rocket science....the fuel does not magic it's way from the tank to the carbs/injectors

The bike goes fine, there's just no "on, off and reserve" tap.

There has to be one. On the underside of the tank, on the left, at the rear.
Like I said before, the fuel does not magic from the tank to the carbs. And there will be at least one hose (more likely 2).

What year is this magical bike? Later models of Hondas do not necessarily have a fuel tap with "On / Off / Reserve" - they may only have a tap under the tank to enable removing of the tank without fuel pissing everywhere, or have no tap at all if - like my bike - they're fuel injected and have the pump inside the tank.

Yea we were kinda guessing that, you can kinda see the fuel pipes going into the carbs, but they're all under the tank. So no biggie, just curious.

Yup, have one like that on my 1981 CB400, it's a tad muckier though

But on my Transalp it is missing... aparently not necessary cos you can look at the fuel guage... <box type="soap"> YEH RIGHT it ain't a cage, I use a tank really fast and I am having a sh1t load more fun than any cage driver so how am I supposed to realise when a little needle goes in to the little red bit</box>
