So many beautiful two-strokes on Trade Me. I want one!

Well lately I have noticed a few two stroke 250 bikes on Trade Me, I don't think I've ever seen so many on sale for the last year or so.

Here's the list, say if you had to buy one which one would it be and why? Tell me what your picks are and why you would go for that one? The nice RGV 96 VJ 23 isn't on at the moment so here's the ones which are:

    Aprilia RS 250's :

    One
    Two
    Three
    Four

    Honda NSR MC 28 :

    One

    Yamaha TZR 250 :

    One

Where would your money be at guys, oh I must add I've never seen a TZR in such nic condition, good on you owner!!

I'd go the RS too, but 2 of those 03 models with around 1000km havent really been ridden and would wonder what condition it is in from not having a whole heap of use.

Not an expert on 2 strokes but they are higher maintenance and would think using them would also help.

I'd buy this one, an MZ 250, from East Germany when it was still communist.
    Cool!
Madkeenandy will apparently be racing an MZ 250 in the BEARs "Sound of Thunder" meeting this weekend

I think the yammy.. owned RD250 - 350 - 400 over the years and they were great bikes.

Not sure two strokes are higher maintainence than 4 strokes. Proabably true on the old two-stroke oils, but the new synthetic oils don't seem to carbon up as much.

No oil changes to do - no oil filters - no valve clearances - b ike is always running fresh oil. Hmm I better go out and buy one !

Stoppit! you'll have me bidding soon.

Ahh, why did they never make a TZR400 to replace the RZ350. Note the missing question mark.

2 strokes were starting to be abandoned. At the time Yamaha were messing round with 20v engines and exup exhaust valves. So they dissowned all 2 strokes cept for 250's, 500's etc

Yeah rhetorical question sadly. I'd been in the line to buy one, esp if they kept the drum style powervalve.
