The worst situation I've been in is on occasion when I was indicating to turn left, and car over took me on the left side. It was only pure luck that I saw a flash in my left mirror. Barely managed to straighten up and haul in on the brakes. He would have taken me clean out if I had turned. I hit rage factor ten on that occasion.

Zeocen, while I completely understand how you felt, if you get angry every time some dickwad in a car tries to kill you in Auckland then you are going to die from a coronary before they get a chance.

Also when you get angry your rational thought goes out the window, which is quite dangerous when riding a bike for hopefully obvious reasons. (Look up the term Amygdala Hijack.)

Yep many many times over the years but prolly only 3 or 4 times in the past 2 years.
NOT a good practice to get into especially if you're not able to back up with some skills and as mentioned earlier for some stupid reason despite someone nearly killing us we're not allowed to do such things

Yep, done stupid things myself and have managed to realise that it isn't solving anything. Like in all things, the retaliator always ends up wearing the penalty worse! In our case, we are on two wheels and it doesn't take much for a cage to bat us off if they "decide" to go for it

It's good to hear you came to no harm, but spare a thought to the other scenarios when it all goes pear-shaped and nasty We all know how you feel, just need to take that chill pill when you can and allow karma and other intangibles to sort out those types

Keep riding safely and try and leave the fun stuff for PS2/3/Xbox/PC gaming huh?

Oh yeah, I know full well about the special brand of idjits we get down south our ways - and they even ride two wheels at times too!

A smack on the car's roof - open hand or fist, you decide - makes a VERY loud noise inside and might help wake up the mofo.

But as other's have said you are better to avoid the situation if you can

    but what did you do??

I have kicked a car door as hard as I could when I had steel caps on, made a nice dent in the rear door. I was a pedestrian and the car ran a red. I also tried to break a driver door window, pedestrian again, crossing road saw car coming, turning right into the road i was crossing, stopped on my side of the raod (not the side he would be driving on) so he purposefully swerved onto the wrong side of the road and jammed on his breaks. i didn't move and he stopped infront of me then proceeded to sit on his horn while laughing. So i took a step back walked up to his window and preceeded to punch it and kick ing his door he moved foward and i proceeded on. He then got out of his car (he was quite a bit bigger than me) so i ran towards him yelling abuse and he promptly jumped back in his car and sped off before i could kick the shit out of him, I was so fired up.

Thanks for the stories guys, I guess some car drivers are really just *that* bad. I think I'll try think of rainbows and butterflies while breathing in and out next time hehe

It was probably the biggest case of road rage I've had, just... argh, if you had to choose between indicating or running over a motorcyclist ..... *head explodes*

    Avoiding tin tops

Treat all car & SUV drivers as either stupid or blind, keep you eys peeled & ride defensively (this does not mean slow). There's no substitute for just getting experience on the bike. (God I sound like an old bugger) !

I've given up on trying to educate tin tops. there's two many of them and the simple proccess of starting the car seems to halt all brain activity.

Now there's a great idea! *wonders if it is possible to make a little egg basket on the handle bars*
