I had a demo of the 750 from colemans last week (thanks mark) scrubbed its tyres in for them!! A bloody awesome bike, I've also had their 1000 out before and I reckon the 750 is a more useable road bike. I loved the way it just picked up its head at any revs and charged, bloody marvelous, I'm saving up for one now, although I prefer the looks of last years bikes or if it was more like the 1000 in looks, it came across as being a bit plasticy, but that said I'd take it for the induction howl and exhaust note, epic...I spent all the time I was on it in town just blipping the throttle and down shifting and making it BARK at other road users, fantastic.

Had the new 600 out as well for a short hop, it just didn't compare, in fact I reckon my 600 is a better bike!

That induction roar gets even better as the strain on the engine increases.

Buy the Thou and put an aftermarket pipe on (Sounds way more wicked). Then you can take part in 1/4 mile sprints and kick ass!
And you even get to enjoy blowing away the 750's at the lights.

I agree about the look thing. I like the K5/K6 thou over the fairing light K6 600's & 750's. But thats what you get when you buy a bike designed to do the biz. I still love the big mutha pipe and hence why I like the K6 thou. Plus, I weigh 100kg, so the extra horses is a goody!

Once my mechanical warranty expires and it's time for a new bike, I won't buy another Gixxer thou unless I can have a pretty bling pipe on it!

I have to say I'm real tempted by the ex-demo 1000 that colemans have on sale right now 7000K's for $17,000 K5, now all I need to do is find 5 grand...maybe I can swipe it from the savings without the missus noticing..no thats stupid, I'll sell the missus instead!!

Funny, I though gixxers were ugly (But the 1000K5 an improvement) till the K6 600/750 with the stubby pipe.

    Previous gixxers look.. Wrong.

I reakon the previous gixxers look great, and so do all the K6's.
The K4/K5 gixxers look shit hot awesome. Seeing Jimbo's old 600 last weekend, that looked wicked upon passing head on.

I don't like paying the same price for far less fairing and - no pipe.
I'm not a fan of the stubby. A fair few people aren't. To me it's money for nothing.
The reason they went stubby was because of the Ti shortage which resulted in so few k5/k6 thousands being manufactured.

I personally reakon Darkmans R1 looks miles better than any GSXR. (2006 R1)
    Now thats got a finish!

Mate, Just make sure you're getting a good mechanical warranty, Check that they'll throw you on a new set of rubber then finance it through the bikeshop. 5 Grand financed ain't nothing.

Well its the fact its a demo bike thats holding me back I, although technically that bike hasn't been regestered yet, so would be regoed as an 2006 bike with all the suzuki cover etc of a brand new bike!!

Bloody good point about the finance though ah nuts now thats got me really thinking!!!!!!!!

Yeah dude, but you do know that you'll probably get a new one for 19 grand.
You just have to haggle the bikeshops.
Phil Turnballs in Palmy have had a K6 sitting there for 6 months. They'll be keen for a sale. Also, Dave Andersons in Wairarapa are great guys to deal with, they'll cut you a good price.
Thats only another two. Make them an offer, you never know.
Sometimes you just gotta do it.
At least with suzuki you get 2 year unlimited kilometres, now thats peace of mind.

I wasn't sold on the looks of the k6 750 until I actually decided to buy one - still kinda prefer the tail end of my 600 k4 if I'm 100% honest, but the handling of the k6 bike is just bloody fantastic - I prefer it to my 600k4 - it just seems to know what you want to do all the time - so balanced and poised

I've had a problem with the clutch with is being sorted under warranty at the moment, and the throttle can be a bit snatchy at low speeds around time, but all in all.. what a bloody tool

Aye? Mass centralisation is the reason. Just like the R6, just like a (some of a) Honda RCV. The low-grade titanium used in a mere exhaust pipe shouldn't be hard for Suzuki to obtain. China pumps that crap out. Perhaps a bit of designers whimsy as well, bored with conventional up the side pipes and underseat is so '1994'.

If Suzuki were building pipes out of aircraft grade metal, well, they'd have to be in line (a long way) behind US and European aircraft manufacturers.

There seems to be no shortage of K5/k6 gixxer thous either, seems like everyone has got one.

I just had to dig up this thread because I can't stop thinking about your bike, for the above reasons, even after only 10 minutes on it.

I am seriously thinking about buying one of these now, any chance of a bit more time on your bike next weekend?

Is this the one you mentioned was for sale?

I hope something changed your mind about that statement given the k's you have done two up now.

Yep, sure. Needs new brake pads though, there is no meat left on one of the pads now

I meant this: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=45450 one. But it appears it is now sold. That one on TM is a 600 anyway.. Who would want one of those? Common as muck they are..

The pillion was Dreamer, she is.. Not a good pillion .
