Have to add another Kiwi classic that's been missed: The Swingers - Counting the Beat.
Everyone remember the older L&P adverts?

    Look at the sunrise
    I look at it burn
    I look into your eyes
    Don't know where to turn
I'm gonna drift into that void
I'm flying through space, I'm an asteroid
Time doesn't take place when you're paranoid
I'm thinking about you, and nothing else
Thinking about you, you're thinking about me
Thinking about you, I'm counting the beat
    Thinking about you
    Thinking about me
Thinking about just you and me, la da de de, there ain't no place I'd rather be
La da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da... and so on.

I'll also add my vote in for Slice of Heaven, it's pretty widely accepted as a Kiwi song in New Zealand. Footrot flats definitely helped with that.
Edit: It's on YouTube if you want a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQ8GBTANBk8

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

I remember big Tommy a genial Maori in Warkworth back in the '70's, could pick up just about any instrument and play it! Couldn't quite pick up our piano, but could play it anyways...

Beautiful on the guitar and violin, ukelele, great beat on the drums! Any still around like him? Must be, surely!

Images are no prob, the sound has me flummoxed.

'Loyal' - but it's not about NZ. 'Nature' - but it's a bit stupid.

If this was back home it would be a doddle. 'Great Southern Land' or 'Sounds of then' or 'Downunder' - but is there a Kiwi equivalent?

    A groovy song about NZ.

At the mo it's Tim Finns 'Couldn't be done' because the message is better.

Suggestions? and I'll go to itunes and buy it.

If you can find 'Higher Trails' by John Hanlon.....have a listen, it was written for a NZ movie by the same name and is one of my Fav tunes from the 70's
