I didnt get to see Morcs today, but got a txt saying he's sore but resting up. Probably feels like he's been tenderised and its caught up with him after bouncing off the porshe and road.

    Im glad he's ok.

If the refresh is low enough or the brand sufficiently bad.

Even so, how exactly would trigger a reaction? They can't flicker, no matter what indo chinese muppet made it. Refresh rate is almost a misnomer on an LCD of course... almost every LCD I've ever seen was run at its minimum refresh rate (generally 60hz).

LCD's don't flicker. You cant adjust their refresh rate... Windows might let you try and do it but it wont make any difference. LCDs refresh a pixel as it needs to change color. The response time of a LCD is measured in milliseconds and that measures the time it takes for 1 pixel to change from white to completely black or vice versa.CRT's refresh the whole screen, the reason you get sore eyes is because your eyes refresh at about 70hz. So with a screen at 60hz your eyes notice the flicker and give you a headache.

I hate to contradict you but all LCD screens flicker - it is a fundamental consequence of their technology. However it isn't due to the refresh rate.

There's a really good explanation of this at http://www.techmind.org/lcd/

In liquid crystal pixel cells, it is only the magnitude of the applied voltage which determines the light transmission (the transmission vs. voltage function is symmetrical about 0V). To prevent polarisation (and rapid permanent damage) of the liquid crystal material, the polarity of the cell voltage is reversed on alternate video frames. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get exactly the same voltage on the cell in both polarities, so the pixel-cell brightness will tend to flicker to some extent at half the frame-rate. If the polarity of the whole screen were inverted at once then the flicker would be highly objectionable. Instead, it is usual to have the polarity of nearby pixels in anti-phase, thus cancelling out the flicker over areas of any significant size. In this way the flicker can be made imperceptible for most "natural" images.
