Any loss of protection compared to the solid stuff?
I'm sick of sweating like a fat Italian guy on the race track.

ive got a 2pce tecnics and they are soooo much cooler then non perf leathers, i have binned in this pair twice in 6yrs and have walked away both times ( one bin at 1--+kph ,bike written off ) leathers held up great only a few scratches, so i dont think there is fark all difference IMHO

No difference protection wise..........i just keep a pair of cheap pullover wet weather pants under the seat in case it rains hard.............

Sweet. Cheers fellas. I reckon it's the way to go for me in terms of temperature control. I can always wear something underneath to stop the wind chill if it's really cold.

There is an underjacket you can buy from the UK (they advertise in BIKE and or TWO?) to wear under vented leathers. I'm at work and can't check the brand.
It is made of the material they use to make the outer covers of sleeping bags.
It's very thin and the jacket folds up to about the size of a cigarette packet but keeps the wind out when it gets chilly. The satiny inner jacket also makes your leather jacket slip on really easy. There is an offset zip so you don't get it mixed up with the other zips.
Over the summer months I haven't been using mine but anytime now it's coming out of storage....
Can't remember the price but it wasn't too savage.

If you want something to wear underneath,an english brand called Oxford,do a range of stuff called Chill out & is windproof, but still light & warm

Im used to non perf leathers--Sweating is just part of the deal.
Then I took a tumble just before the nationals and had to borrow a set of ex bernard perferated leathers. The difference was huge --I kept checking the zip was done up they wer so much cooler.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
You'll never look back. Binned too many times in mine and the leathers held up no problem.
Yes can be damn cold if you get caught out in winter, but a cheap wind breaker over the top to cut the air flow and they perform like normal. Have been known to use race tape over the perforations when caught out in cold.
Never heard of anyone having problems with them, I have never had a problem with mine even when 'tested' unexpectedly, mind you I have never tested them at high speed.

Yeah my ones are perforated and in the (umm, holds up hands and counts on fingers...) dunno 15 or so bins I've had in them the perforations haven't caused any problems. The perforations are all in places where you won't have much abrasion with the track, eg the chest, front of the legs etc. I'd be a bit worried if it had perforations on the butt hehe.
I've got perferated bits and vents in my jacket that get bloody cold so I got one of these ($100 Revit Lynx). It has windproof stuff on the front and top of the sleeves and then breathable stuff on the back and under the arms - works really well.
I don't look so moody when I'm wearing it tho

That looks just perfect for me, they have rev'it at motomail, so I'll check it out soon. Cheers,
Hundy bucks is a bit steep but it gets freezing without it, so I guess I don't mind splashing out
