I couldn't frickin ride that bloody thing when I first rode it on a track!!! all bloody twitchy and squated like a pig with no legs...ran wider than amazon in flood outta corners....but hey....everyone likes things to be setup different [that and I'm heavier than both ya by a bit!!!] felt pretty good to me how I had it...and I'll put it back the same again too... :P

Shaun, this would be your thing mate (though perhaps a bit short after the TT). What a BLAST. Can't wait too come back to it.....the buzz from doing that kind of riding between banks and blind corners, over crests...also racing against yourself and the road, not other people. Totally diffrent mindset to racing too isn't it though? Its an extremly quik road ride rather than racing mindgame....

What a great write up. And what a great event. How on earth did this kind of event happen in our OSH contolled land??!! Fantastic. At first I thought it was some kind of chook chaser bash up a hill... how wrong I was. Now I am really curious to at least see it if not do it next year. Bring on more info in time please.

No disrespect Cleve, but Deano's been harping on about this for some months now. It's due mostly to his efforts that the event got the coverage and entries it deserved.

Couple of years from now, when we're watching international riders battle it out on TV, he'll be able to say, "I helped build that"

No none taken, but the posts I saw were not clear that it was a "road" race. I assumed it was dirt and didn't bother much more with it... mostly my fault of course...

As in really friggin steep bring your paddle-steamer wheel hillclimb.

(Your front wheel was the second quickest up the hill on day one bro )


As for the racing, IT WAS THE SCARIEST, and most fun I've ever had on a bike!!!

I've never won before, and anything I try to say sounds kinda smarmy to me, so thanks to everyone for a great day, and hope to see more people there next year.
