First peg-scraper!

Ok, so first time I scraped the peg today. Going around the pass road and came up behind a school bus and sat behind it for about 5 minutes. Eventually could see the whole way through the next couple of corners, dropped a gear and gave it some gas. Went left, ended up going a little bit too fast for the right turn, leant it more than I have done before and then scraped the peg with a bit of a wack. Managed to keep going despite the shock of the first peg scrape. Woohoo!

Not something I do often, was told by a friend if you're not scraping bits, you're not going hard enough.

Did scrape a peg coming up the Kaimais with my Wife on the back - was not a part of the plan, knew we were leaning quite hard, but didn't think it was quite that far over.

scary aye, I nearly shit myself today when instead of my peg scraping, the toe of my boot did instead......luckily only enough to warn me and not rip my foot off......must remember not to hang my gear foot to low into the corners in anticipation of changing up....woops

Ah yes - I wish I had taken up the motorbike when I was living in Nelson - I will just have to make some regular trips home I do believe...

Yep, gotta watch the boots. Once you start scraping regularly, get into the habit of riding with your toes on the pegs. Gives you better control and when you are over there's no chance your boots gonna hook the road and get dragged under the bike. That's not a good look 1. Sore foot or worse. 2. Foot under the peg lifts rear wheel enough to lose traction and other parts may get very sore.
