Hallo, hope this is the right place. Is '86 classic enough? Heheh.
I needed to replace the steering head bearings for the GB. I didn't measure the height of the top one (you can only get one size of bearing for the GB 400, really), and when we put it in, it got to about 3mm to go, and got stuck! It's a tapered roller bearing - this one, actually. And it sticks out the top! I didn't want to keep smashing the thing in. A google search led to nothing.
So, do I keep smashing the thing in? It appears to have stopped against a ridge on the inside of the yoke.
I don't have a picture of the bearing sticking out, but imagine a bit of silver is poking out the top of the yoke (also imagine the cap is not there...).
