Learner Ride to Taupo (Saturday 11 Feb 2012)

Back on post #1, I have mentioned that we all chip in $10 for food.
Theres now around 30 attending.
What about breakfast on the Sunday morning?
$300 buys alot of food (if you shop right)...get in some Bacon/Bread...?

*Just use the plates/knives/forks and cups from your units and bring them to the eating area.

Suggestions?

We may need Milk/Butter etc and some juice/water.

I am trying to swing a TV show but I need to make a mock episode to show potential producers. Does anybody have a decent video camera that I could use? I would be doing the episode on the trip down to Taupo so it doesn't even have to leave your sight. Would be really cool if I can use one :cool:

That said you do have to watch the footage quite a few times, slowed down, going backwards and forwards to shift the bar/s as the people move around.

There was a couple of options for track days, but alas hampton ride days are no more as of end of February, unless things change. However Moto TT ( www.motott.co.nz) run days at Taupo and Manfield, there is also the ART (advanced rider training) days at Pukekohe as well which are meant to be really good.

Otherwise some clubs etc also run days.

Thank you Steve...we dont mentor, we provide a safe and (at times) outragously good time for those who attend...:niceone:
With over 30 group rides behind me and not one loss/no tickets issued and just one minor fairing scraping within that 30, I can only say that my rides attract the right people....with not an attitude/ego in sight.
I dealt with a small issue quick enough on the last ride (when it was brought to my attention) and it was put to sleep right there and then.
We all know who the finger gets pointed at when things go tits up on group rides.

Well this is irritating. Due to several changes with work. Mostly that instead of 2 decnt paychecks per month i now get one big one I will be unable to attend the trip. My big paycheck arrives just after this trip so I wouldnt even be able to pay for the fuel to get half way.

It did but I would like to try the way we rode back on the Sunday, that worked well also.

Riding as one group..for the first part at least, will discuss in person what I have in mind on the day.
There are quiet a few on this ride that I dont know in person and will want some feedback at our first regroup.

Right... One week to go, the preparations have begun. Bike is running minta, just been out for a blat in the countryside, tires at the right pressure (whoops, forgot to keep an eye on these lately!) new fairings still haven't turned up but no biggie... Bourbon has been purchased (trying NOT to drink it ahead of schedule!) now to reprogram the route into the GPS - oh how I wish there was an easier way to do that!
