Was it a 'non competition' horn?

We swapped it for a 1927 Indian remember. I tried to see myself in that video because we were there that day as part of the Classic Motorcycle Club, spotted our club president but that was it.

We couldn't build a Model T in 40 years, that must be a record as well I would think...

Hopefully Scott will take the chair up, like he said, we ran it with the mini motos and it got an "R Clip" through the back tyre making it a bit obsolete... If there was a replacement tyre lying about, I'm sure that would tempt him.

That same day Regan's V4 got a motorcycle connecting chain link half go through his back tyre, made the day a little more expensive then it otherwise could have been.

Having learnt the power of "spare parts" falling off bikes, I will be bringing a bucket of said parts with me and liberally giving them out like Santa Claus whilst riding.

Right, since the ese thread is going into hyper seriousness, I thought I might explain myself here. As the only people that I care that see the explanation would see it here, or other threads in the bucket racing section of this forum. There's no denying that certain people have a lot of two stroke knowledge in general, and boy are they right! (110% or the time!) But all this constant Babel about kart engines, rygers, etc etc. All the questions from Germany, Belgium and how else fucken knows... I thought the point of it was to help develop 50 - 125 chicken moving two stroke engines into competitive road racing engines. It has just gone so far away from what it is intended (in my opinion, if i am allowed to have one?)

I just had the maddest dream.

Burt Munro Challenge looks awesome, and I guess it would be every bucket racers dream to knock that one off so to speak. Chances of getting into a street race with so many competitors always looks slim to non existent.

Just had a peak at the local Kart Track on the web, very close to Oreti Beach, right in the thick of the action.

Food for thought, maybe they would be receptive for a two day event.

I will go take some more pills now...delusions fading, feelings of grandeur diminishing...

Can't see it happening sorry...Officials are always in short supply at the Burt. Teretonga, Saturday, late PM the officials make a run for the speedway to run that meeting. Finding a gap in the programme would be very hard. Plus there's next to no bucket activity there so very small local competitor base to draw on.
If you want to run a bucket on a street circuit, come to Methven at Easter...Great day out.

The good thing about Manfield is there is power everywhere. Even out on the grass there are posts sticking out of the ground. you should be sweet.

Keep posting your progress on the 50 pages Rich, I would like F5 to go free tech rules as it would make the class even more exciting

the rules out of the uk are

Engine:
Two stroke and four stroke engines with a capacity of no more than 50cc.

Transmission:
A minimum of 3 gears and a maximum of 6 gears.

Wheels:
Wheel diameter must be between 16" and 18"

They have now allowed CVT but they have to be chain driven.
Basically the only rule is 50cc and go for it

I hope so too, too early for presents.

Was out at the Classic Motorcycle Clubs 'Champagne Breakfast' the day after and got talking about Buckets. Two of them have said they had photographs of bucket racing in the 90's and 80's, hope to get these up some time if they come to fruition. One lot was the Esplanade, the other was the Foodtown Carpark if anyone can remember those days.

Amazing what is out there, makes me think about doing that Bucket Racing book that I threatened to do a while back. PM me with photographs and information if you are willing to help. What would be good is a contribution from every major Bucket Racing stronghold, images of buckets through the years, pictures of tracks that were used, information and pictures of bikes that were successful or maybe less so. Goes for Sidecars as well.

My book on Ashhurst's history is due in 12 years when the 150th anniversary happens, no reason I can't work on two books consecutively.

PM me and I can give my email address over, and lets see where this can go...

This is a good idea...
It would cool to do a multi section book:
history from around NZ,
GPs and the like (profiles of multiple GP champions),
special builds over the decades (thinking of Wheelers centre hub, ziffles TF, Jason's RG400 barrelled Thing).
Then the rebirth with the FXRs etc.
I'm sure a few of the Silverbacks have some stories to tell.

Ha the Foodtown carpark was a hoot. The plywood covers over the drains were ok. Until it rained. Won my first race there on the MB50. But crashed 5 times on another meeting there including a hay bale blowing in front of me then later the rod making an appearance. Darrin hit me both times. By accident I'm sure. . .

Will do. The rules we have a close. I found a nice Ali cylinder that does not say racing on it. Looks very racy though. Stage 6

Sure. I have already ported the cast cylinder. I know where and when to poor energy into a build. I will still be putting tons of hours into the new cylinder and the engine build. It will all be my design and my work. I will build the pipe / pipes myself. Buying a cylinder that looks good will only get you so far. I plan on going beyond what everyone else has done. Cheater way I don't think so!

That's a bit rough... I've been on my Christmas bender.
70hp isn't a bad starting point.

I'll dig out some servo motors and bring them up to try out.

Showing my age this morning...

I've got a ZX6 servo and two TZR units - will take a bit of dicking to remap but that's life.

The other thing is to pull down your existing and replace insides (I've had to do that in the past)...

Looking good,

For what it is worth i've always had to run 4 jet sizes richer on the track from what I run on my dyno, I think that is because my dyno has a low inertia.

Now get that puppy over 90hp!

Mine is a true 16 deg at peak power. Running Avgas. You should clock in tdc on the fly wheel. Mark it and check it. They are all different.
