Speaking of other times:gob: i was thinking that last year we went for a "Awakino Sheep Meat" ride which from memory was a bloody good time by all.
Freezing bloody cold, lots of ice on the road, cold fingers and some really tight bung hole clenches with some close calls but a really excellent ride.:rockon:

We met up with the Dorklanders, Hamilholians and a few other hangers on and met up with the Wanganui, Palmy crowd at Awakino.:sunny:

Well while all the young hoons were of practising their wheelies Jude and I cruised over the Mamaku's to Putaruru and then onto Arapuni, Orakau, kihikihi stopping for lunch at a nice little cafe in Otorohanga.
Stretched the legs then onto Waitomo where we paid our money and played tourists for about 3 hours walking.
I must say it was well worth the effort, very interesting and in some cases bloody incredible.
The day just went and it was time to head home so of we set and after stopping at the gas station for a fill up and the cafe next door for a coffee we set out to come home via the Waikeria road...pretty straight forward i thought just follow this through to Managkino....Yeah right!:no:
We covered a hell of a lot of Kms of lovely windy roads (no road marking!) and some beaut scenery passing through places like Ngarimu & Wharepunga before finally emerging somewhere near Arohena :confused:and making our way to Mangakino and by that time it was starting to get dark so it was up the pace :bleh:and get home before it got to cold.
Really enjoyable day and visited 3 dams over the course of the day, although purely coincidental not planned.:laugh:
Must do another Kawhia trip in the not to distant future and see if we can get some of the Auckland crew down.

turkey strips?! they be "blued" strips, from other trackdays/matawai rides ;) i don't like turkeys.

peddling? who me? ever heard of an italian peddling? that's wot i thought.

was gonna pop in on you lot at Taupo today, but ended up coming home Sat night, seeing as the day finished early-ish & we still felt ok-ish.

nah, the paddock stand found itself a perfect lil pozzy at the front of the trailer; bikes were more stable 'rubber down'.

The write up part.
Asked Todd from KiwiRider to show me some lines (i'd been watching him trying to get ppl in Novice to follow him). Figured it'd be best to learn the track 'properly' from the 1st session; it was the best thing i did all day.
He followed me for a couple laps; then i followed him & he learned me; then he followed me to check i'd been learned & we had a wee chat in the pits about it. He reckons i was pretty much on the right track (:msn-wink:), just pointed out stuff to try on 1 & Higgins & the final turn.

Poor ol' RF had herself a workout; hit the limiter a couple of times, and (Tboy'll be proud) regularly had the needle buried in the red stuff...
Stoked to see Shirriffs out on his new bike and enjoyed the 'group chat session' with him afterwards.

We "pitted" next to manxkiwi & his mate peter; manx was over at the TT this year too, so you can imagine wot we gas bagged about. Followed him in the last session; he gets reeeeet over on his RGV!! and is quick through corners!

In the 2nd to last session (my best one i think) i even had the old girl a little sideways under brakes into the final sweeper...Started trying to counter-steer even more to make it go out more, but then figured i'd better just enjoy what it was doing as it was...Awesome feeling!!

So yeh,a great day out...look forward to the new surface, and look forward to warmer track temperatures!

First of all, damn Tash is hard!!
She was incredible & put a HUGE effort in!
For those of you who know about this kinda stuff, the first half went (relatively) sweet, everyone was surprised...but the 'pushing' part kinda dragged on.
6hrs later (and having been on drugs to boost the contractions) Doc had to 'assist' in a couple of ways, end result being:
