The offer still stands for next and every other Thursday nite at Hennessy's!(why Hennessy's? They take Bartercard!).

It would be great to meet some fellow KBers and maybe make it a regular thing. And I have even been known to shout the odd drink. And this is not a get tanked then drive home affair!!

I'm guessing I'll be the only one posting a completed report on here.
No-show by the Rotopikers.
Contacted Geoff to see what the weather was like down his way at 4.30. And sounded better than here, so doned wets and with Clare set off in light rain.
Speed limit all the way and of particular note,... Wow those shiny spots are sure slippery but the best was the camera van parked on the Piarere straights above the river. The van stratigically did a rear window wipe just before we passed it. Now I understand those vans are manned.. (Can you imagine how many would survive if they werent!!) .. But can you imagine being the operator with your hand on the wiper control and looking back to know when to wipe and when not to!!! Sad lot of sorry arses I'd say. As it happened my X50 had pre-warned me of their presence so no click-flash.
Next interesting sight was a tow truck, Police car and some others on one of the wet corners before the Pub. The car was parked in the padock but looked like it had rolled as it went through the fence. On my pervious trip down that road it appeared to have numerious deceptive bends so as well as it being wet I was taking it pretty easy. Tho to come around a corner and encounter a tow truck and more I hit the brakes pretty hard thinking there could be debris across the road. Fortunately there were none and was able to stay upright and carry on.
Made it to Okororie, there were 3 other bikes there a Buel and ?? was raining and dont remember.
Rain was pretty much gone when we came to leave after a Tai Chicken Curry and ice cream sundae, but still put the wets back on. Uneventful return, tho the camera van was still there. Got back to Hamilton to a beaut sunset and drying roads. A nice outing shared with my lovely wife. :)

I tried really hard to get back to Oko in time for dinner but I was still in Coroglen pub when dinner time rolled around so we ate there then battled the wind & rain to get home at 11pm. Few hold ups along the way, stopped at a gas station to shelter from the worst of a torrential down-pour, came across a car that had skidded off the road so had to stop & check it out, no one in it but 3 young fullas walking about half a k down the road. Had to stop at texmo's crash corner, first time I'd been back there since. Had to stop at Bethlem to stretch cos I started to cease up but at least it fined up for the last leg back to Vegas. Had an awesome day but have to replace chain & sprockets before I can ride again:angry:

Ended up being Goblin, SlickD & moi who went for a blat; nice series of twisties right close to town, gotta love it!

For those who know: we shot up to Mamaku, down Oturoa Rd with it's lovely quick sweepers, up Central & Jackson Rds, onto Te Waerenga then around the Lake back to mine... A bit over an hours' riding...proper good fun!

The BBQ was spat on by those ever-present clouds up yonder, but not enough to call it off...

ok next ride ideas for thursday da 19th.

1.to the bottom of the Rotomas and back to Hennessys for a pint.

2.same ride that Eman and co went on last thursday followed by a pint at Hennessys.

3.Waikite Valley (SH 30 to Whirinaki Valley road, left on to Waikate Valley road, left on to Corbett Rd, right on to Tumuni Rd which takes us back onto SH 5) and then back to, yep you guessed it, HENNESSYS!!

I'm not really bothered as to where we go as long as it's widey and is followed up by a beer at Hennessy's. So if you's have an idea for a ride let us know.

Eman...Braemar rd is AB-FAB. LOve that rd! There's a huge woop-de-doo in the middle and if you hit it at the right speed, you can fly! There's only about 3 corners that tighten up and one bumpy bridge that you have to be careful on. We could also go down to the spring for a looksee. Any ride is a good ride though. I'm not really fussed where we go.

ok next ride ideas for thursday da 19th.

1.to the bottom of the Rotomas and back to Hennessys for a pint.

2.same ride that Eman and co went on last thursday followed by a pint at Hennessys.

3.Waikite Valley (SH 30 to Whirinaki Valley road, left on to Waikate Valley road, left on to Corbett Rd, right on to Tumuni Rd which takes us back onto SH 5) and then back to, yep you guessed it, HENNESSYS!!

I'm not really bothered as to where we go as long as it's widey and is followed up by a beer at Hennessy's. So if you's have an idea for a ride let us know.

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know I got home safe and soaked. It's pretty safe to assume Darrell did too as he's only 10 min further down the road.

Ride home sucked, too wet for any fun. Couldn't pull any wheelstands, just got wheelspin. Started to dry up closer to Te Puke so tried one leaving Waitangi, got the front off the ground before the rear decided to spin and step sideways, needless to say I thottled off that one!!!

Anyway, was good to meet a few new faces, as well as a few old ones (no offence Tony, ahaha!!)

We're gonna pull out of the ride seeing as noone in rotorua want's to play. Will be going straight to the navigator at 5 instead, all are welcome.
