Haha, your bit on the side at grumpies won't be too happy you've moved the mob to abracadabra jon :nono:
Thort I might update on how this permanent vacation is going!
Perth is bloody marvellous! Aside from the obvious lack of crappy weather, and maoris, that is.
Had my first day at work today, starting an apprenticeship as a fitter machinist with a big firm just up the road from where we have scored a place to live. Work is a big circus full of all sorts of interesting characters and a laugh a minute! The pay is as good as they say it is and overtime is actually rewarded with time and a half past 8 hours worked, and double time for 10+ hours in a day. Our house is virtually brand new, shared with 3 german uni students (hilarious), and costs me and alex $200 a week including power, gas, water, and broadband.
I've gone and bought a racebike already, 03 zx6- built to superstock specs with spares, stands and warmers for $5600. Just that obtaining a race license is a little more involved than back home, though I should be ready to go early next year.:niceone:
I hope you're all doing well- will have some pics of it soon enough I hope!

Waiting for Pauly to organise our round the East cape trip now that petrol is cheap again.
I have been in Whitianga over New Year and man there is shit loads of cops. I was told by locals that they have been really targeting bikers because 1/3 ACC claims for bike accidents are on the Coro loop. handing out leaflets on safe riding techniques etc as well as tickets:argh:

Hey BB2 and I have been thinking of doing this soon also as it has been in the pipeline for about 2 years now.., I believe there are others that would also be keen going off conversations had on Sunday.. Do you think somewhere like this might be a better option than taking tents? - Here (http://www.footprintsinthesand.co.nz/accom_d.html) We could get a dorm to ourselves I am sure :D
Maybe even something like this? - Bach (http://www.bookabach.co.nz/holiday_homes/dsp_listing.cfm?bachId=5775)

2CT's are shit Jon, they're vague in the middle, and slippery on the sides. The only thing they do well is wet cornering on the road. Now you've got a bike which handles, get the tyres it deserves; supercorsa, racetec, race attack etc.

He rang me feeling very bad about not knowing they were low, and I fully believe him.
He's been a huge help throughout & always full of advice & tips for me! Couldn't ask for a "more betterer" seller.
I should've engaged the ol' grey matter before writing it; I was merely thinking of things needing doing before the trackday...
Speaking of which, she's lookin' gorgeous & sleek now that the pillion pegs & mudguard unit are off :)

I luuuuuuurrrrrrve my bike!!!
Had a mint 1/2 day down at Taupo (the 1st 1/2 was v v v gentle); the afternoon sessions were loads more fun.
Managed to get a little extra track-time by following the pretty Lines ladies in their fluoros, (Cheers boys; was good to compare see what you guys do out there & take some tips away from it. Good to see you both got slightly different lines in places too), this helped me get the slicks that much warmer & start riding at a more normal pace.
The bike feels like an 'extension' :shifty: of me, if that makes any sense.
The front, just as Logan had said, is superb. The feel & the behaviour of those forks is meeean - it feels like it wants to lean lean lean & pull the rest of the bike around behind it where-ever it goes.
I backed off pre-load a turn, and upped compression 1 1/2 turns; both to help with my, ahem, lack of fatness & to slow the forks down under braking.
Ended up getting some EBC HHs from "Big Bikes" in the 'Tron. (Found them by accident; they gave me a v competitive price; and yes, I did go check with Boyds first...sucks having a conscience, d'unnit?!).
Slipper clutch took some getting used to; found myself feathering the clutch as per normal so I had a quiet word with myself to remind myself of the technologies on-board this awwwwesome bike!!! (which myself owns!!!).
Clutchless changes were by far the smoothest & so quick 'n slick; I'm stoked I learnt myself to ride race-pattern...Cool feeling to just go tap-tap-tap when snicking up thru' the gears:2thumbsup
On the RF I'd have to get into 3rd thru' 2 & 3 & over Humpy, but the gixxer just sings along in 2nd beautifully; altho' I guess that could change if I swapped sprockets & dropped the gearing (as on the RF).
Love the slightly raspy growly induction sound too.
Goin' from steady to rolling-on the gas was a pleasantly smooth affair; there was no glitchiness or 'un-sureness'...just a nice steady progression & build of power & speed.
So yeh, hope that answers the many texts & emails!
Huge thanks to Alick for the trackday (lemme know when you want your garage done bro!) & G man for the impending arrival of his no-longer-required tyres! I'll be able to get her legal alot sooner than I tho't & hopefully get over to the Office to show her off:2thumbsup

That is the shoulder that I could get operated on in an estimated 7-8 hour operation, but my physio said it would take 12 months to come rite from ...if ever :(

First of all, yes iam alive!
Second, so is the zx6- wey heyheyhey!!!!
Did a trackday on thursday as a warmup to sitting my race license which is at the end of the month and damn i wish you vegas lads would come out here to have a go on this track its freakin awesome!!
First things first eh?
Rocked up to the track nice and early (ie, 45mins late) pulled into the pits and looked UP at the track. Yes, up, barbagallo raceway is cut into a hillside- over 50m elevation, the only flat bit is the start/finish straight.
Did my first of 6 20min sessions at a leisurely pace due to tyres sitting round for a year, and learning how to ride again also figuring out where the track went. then second session started trying to find the lines which is interesting as half are blind. You turn into the turn one sweeper, then make your way up hill, flick left then right then a quick stab on the brakes for the deceptively long, steep uphill lefty. then flick right which apexs at the crest of the hill and plunge down into "the basin" which is another tricky sweeper which exits uphill, the g forces pushing your head into your neck is a new one to me!
Then you're up over the top again at the top of 5th and with a bit of wheel wobble over the crest, shoot downhill to the bottom and drop the anchors at 260 odd clicks to tip it into a fast right hander onto the start/finish- UNREAL!!!! :devil2::devil2::devil2:
I managed to lap unusually consistently once I got the hang of bike and bitumen, acting like a complete robber at the front of the medium group:third:
I now see why they called them "diesels" when motogp went four stroke- the zx6 doesn't have the punch of my old 250, but it just pulls and a quick look at the speedo shows it is actually a fair bit quicker at the top end. Riding at race pace is comparitively easy too, I was shot after 6 laps on the TZ but all day on the zx6 I was never tired and folding myself onto the bike is like a laz-e-boy in comparison! :niceone:
Whats news with you fellas, are ya doing the winter series again paul? Still fixing everyone elses bikes gavin?
Take it easy :)

The bird's up for sale (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Nissan/Bluebird/auction-217822444.htm). I'm self employed now, so can't afford to break myself on a motorcycle now, gotta ride slow (sounds like a good excuse anyway).
Soon enough will be well and truly attached to a ball and chain. Fun times indeed.
