Man i need to learn...
I'm stupid for questioning ivans engine building skills.....
Oh and 48hp bucket is nothing..... please ... ivans RG50 will make 55 at
least... - TUI -
On another note,
I was quietly reading a old Kiwirider mag.... and who do i see but our own SpeedPro!!

your still a dick.
I can TELL you from riding it that it is too lean.
thats why it bogs.
Start doing things properly.
Mix your fuel properly
Do a PROPER plug check. (the one where you go down a long road in fourth top gear for ages then Kill the bike and pull the clutch in.)
You cant compare the two bikes. They are way different.
oh and burn out your chamber. It feels blocked
Oh ok then captain :blip:
The plug is black as and is soaking wet and I do mix my fuel properly I have a proper mixure you were the one who screwed mixture up and made it smoke myne was good retardo and it got 6 gears not four

one of the wellington bucket guys has one.... not much better than the FXR. Except that its water cooled
Make good power with a after market Muffler and carb. Same with the FXr though...
We have some good battles on the bikes. The bikes are so even in cornering and power

That bike is from Featherston and way cooler than a FXR one reason its honda and 2 its got a real good mid to top end power would smoke a FXR off

With this 150cc four stroke rule, most people are getting a 125 and boring it out to 150 but are you allowed to get a 185 and reduce the cc to 150?

 Yup as long as it complys with all other rules. There is an FXR 140 floating around Chch that was sleeved down when the limit was 140cc.

Who did that belong to, we never saw it race when the limit was 140?
more likely they just said it was sleeved down as it would be resonably pricey to do

I'm feeling a bit pissed off, I'm stroking down a 200 to make a 150 and i just machined the new hole in the crank web too big and the crank pin just falls straight through! Doh! Thank fark i got a spare crank!
But on the upside i got some leathers yesterday at the bucket meet so i won't have to borrow anymore!
What's the max carb size for 150 four strokes?
Can someone point me in the right direction for the bucket rules online?

Anything goes, use the original carb it should be about right. My 150 is running a xr200 carb and seem to be smack on with the original jetting, every time I play with it I end up having to go back to the original settings.

Bore the hole even bigger, make a plug up to weld into it and then bore another hole in the plug where you want (and the correct size), a similar method was used to do my stroker crank

Ivan, i wouldn't bother doing any work on those honda motors, they are no good. The valves are tiny and they are just a bad design. Get a 200 motor like a dr200 or an xt200 and stroke it down and you got a short stroke motor with big valves! If you do the maths they have a similar valve area to an fxr150. Don't bother doing this to an xr200 motor as they use the same head as the 125....small valves, crap. If you wanna make a really hot 4 stroke get one of those cb160 twin motors and stroke that down, that will be quick!

at the moment his XL 'R' is making so much power it snaps the bolts off the cam sproket.

Yeah I still do ride in the wet, just really cautious now, it was on fendalton road, just before the railyway lines. Must have been a combination of the hard old arrowmax on the front, 16" front wheel, twin front disks, and a slippery surface, or just maybe I was on a white line, who knows. 3 hours to do fork seals !
They must give that job to the work experience kids. No one else could do it so slowly
Save yourself some money ,do it yourself. If it gets really hard in the middle of the job take the forks tho the bikeshop, dont pay them 120.00 for unbolting the forks. Even if you ended up buying some circlip pliers you are still gunna be 150 to 250 better off. But if money is no poblem get a man to do them

What you can do is lift the dust cap and tie some rag around the top of the fork seal, then replace the dust cap. Replace the bits of rag as required.

Yes he has. He has taken all the perfectly good suspension linkages out of it and is going to run his shock straight onto the swing arm.
Oh and apparently he's gonna "tunethe fuckout ofit"

I dont know were exactly RG comes from with half of his bullshit I never said I was going to tune the fuck out of it I said I was going to remount my expansion chamber on it bacause it was in the wrong place and dragged on the ground and i said I was going to do the suspension in it and change the tires, Now RG comes on here and talks shit mate he was the one that fucked his FXR by putting on that shitty exhaust pipe with the worst curves and cinks and WELDS on it

Yeah that was pretty bad. And those were baydens welds.
The reason for it wasn't for more HP, It was for more ground clearance.
And to be honest, I don't think it was much slower than the CBR..... (which you rate so highly)
Ivan
25th November 2006, 08:46
the cbr is a genuine piece of engeering it has the best things done to it a proper exhaust system designed for power a cdi designed to rev past were the standered ones limiter kicked in a flat slide race carb it is a good bike it sounds so nice it runs nice and has prettyhigh horsepower cant wait to see the dyno reading for it
