yeah its on my watch list I was going to bid to 850odd allowing for the fact I need freight it and it may stay low with no warrent etc.
It a long drive to take van to Auckland maybe $200 petrol. One tank almost got me to hampton when I was racing posties in my van.

Its got no rego or warrent and im the unlucky type get pulled over riding it back 3 times or more.
If im going to offer her money outside tardme I really need someone I trust to transfer cash to and get them to collect it for a sum of beers.
I dont like the thought of sending someone I dont know money for a bike outside of trade me auction. i may end up with no bike.
Maybe drive up road trip if I cant find someone from KB to collect it or bid and get biketrans pick it up.

Just as addictive
Damn near as expensive
Slightly more socially acceptable so you don't get the societal pressure to quit

Oh totally for sure.
First take all the assets you have divide in two. Then do the same with your paycheck as well if you have young'ns
While you are at it give your self a penilectomy with a pair off side cutters. That way at least you will get the satisfaction of beating her to it.
Even then I guess it is possibly still cheaper than your cure.
The only downside i can see is, you wont get to talk about your feelings as much.

RS shock, & muffler & rad. Bit of a bargain as a package + a nifty front guard. I'll take that as a finders fee.

interesting in the Rad myself. So past my limit (already got an RS shock)
I think Bert wanted the gauges?
Do we let an Aussie win (Top bidder is an Aussie) Who bloody well won the War :innocent:
Co-op buy in?
Kel might want the Shock to go with his Forks?

Might be worth the punt but it runs out this time tomorrow.
btw I don't need any of this stuff, I just posted it.
Well lets try and agree some numbers then place a bid
$40 is nice round number to work with;
radiator $40 - Husaberg
guard $40 - Kel
shock $40 - Myself or the ESE boys will take this
muffler $40 - Farmaken
gauges, footpeg bracket, chain, brake hose and misc $40
So who wants the gauges and other bits? If we have a taker we'd have $200 which should be enough?
Auction closes tomorrow afternoon.
I see Dave Diprose is also watching the auction

Also i notice the fxr150 in Auckland has been offered for $1400 as the bidder with zero feed back that won it either was a alt or a time waster.

No it was Keith Robinson, his son was a good Bucket racer before moving on to 125GP.
Keith is a bit of a trader, who loves to do a deal.
He will have worked out how much he can get on Ebay or Trademe for the individual bits.
Its my bet (a chocolate fish) you will see the various items re appearing again one by one on Trademe before long.
Back in the day, it was never a problem to get a worn out pair of old slicks from him for top dollar.

Got frame swingarm forks and shock tank and a few incidentals $900 was glad to get it. yes they seem to be on the upward trend only 400 made per year so not that common.

I just bought a rear rim for my spoked wets from Torpedo7 on special (front motard rim) for $149 3.5" 17. Now just have to hope it fits in the swingarm ok.
http://www.torpedo7.co.nz/products/T7RIRN0S1/title/torpedo7-sm-rim-3-50x17--7116-
You should be able to fit it in ok as you can vary the offset. nice price too the ones to fir the hubs i was going to use were bloody dear.
From memory the early Goldwings had a full 17x2.5 rim in 36 spoke of course (Gee i wonder how heavy it was) the 2.15x17 are a lot more common. Various early XR200 and i think XL250 rc/rd and probably XT250 and no doubt a lot other other Road Trails.

Yeah old XRs are 17, but in 1.85. I have a wet set with 1.85 front & 2.15 rear. ok for front wets only & front is pinched. I'll sling the back on the front & use the new rim on the back. And maybe sell the 1.85 to an XR200 owner. I've replaced a delaminating original on a mates old one so they do die.

Yeah you are right on the money there Dave about the XR200 being only 1.85x17. The XL250 of around 83-85 posibly later and i guess the 500 as well did have the 2.15x17 though the parts fiche confirmed this the (xl250)where my memory was playing tricks. Funny enough i seem to remember the XR200 getting around with 5.10 tires on them.

Thought I would throw them up on here to see if any one wants them. I have for sale very first parts that i bought off trade, a set of FZR Rims, pretty sure they are the 1KT model, 2.15x17 front 2.75x17 rear. Plan was to put them on the RX125 I started with, but I get feed up with spending more time pushing it around the pits than riding it, so these rims were never fitted.
They come with disks and sprocket carrier.
They are now odd balls in my collection of parts as everything else is Suzuki. I maybe being hopeful, but would happily swap for a set of GSXR250 rims. Otherwise make me an offer I cant refuse.

Its the second one I have seen in last 2 weeks. At 15hp stock that engine worked could be fast. would need carb solution being a twin 2 smoke. One carb serving both or 2 17mm carbs to give same total as one larger carb.

Top 3 costs are:
1. Bike
2. Wheels + Disc's + rear cush drive
3. Getting the spacers machined up. Im no engineer so its going to cost to get it done right.
If you look at the cost of a bike, plus what has been added and done to the bike, it adds up before you know it. It wouldnt be for sale if we were still racing locally.

Doesn't mention spokes anywhere, can ya have them made or just use standard ones ya reckon?
F5 Dave
17th July 2012, 09:35
Std ones should be fine if you have 17s, which you won't. You can get them cut down & new threads re rolled. Ken Baine can do that, I have contact details. You'll need the size up spoke nipple most likely as they will have 8.3mm holes. Hopefully your spokes are thick enough to take them. If you'd asked a week ago I had a piece of paper with the sizes written on them. Maybe 3.6mm? Was size 9 or something queer.
Measure the spoke thickness & I can check mine.
I have a wheel at home I've just done this to, but I bought a $149 rim from Torpedo7 on special, was black, but a can of paint made the front black too.

that's largely the set up I had but with old RS hubs. strictly speaking too narrow to get slicks on. I took the 2.15 off the rear & am putting it on the front & the 3.5 rim conversion for the rear. He's a bit spendy at that price. Maybe if that disc is straight, but the NZ250 ones do warp easy.

I'd have to get it from Auckland to down here in Ashburton. It last ran in Jan before I moved down here. We've only really ridden it in second gear as the suicide shift is quite hairy to use but goes pretty well.

So did mine. They fit like a sack of potatoes made in leather. Loopy said she'd clean them up for me & they came back with the dye touched up looking sparkly. . .but the catch was they had DNF-DAVE emblazoned over the back. At the time I was going through a collection of Knackered MB50 engines due to budget restrictions & spent more time pushing than racing.

Moving shortly and having a clear out so have an RG250 frame with swingarm and shock to get rid of. Also VT250 wheels (mid 80s I think) No front disks but the rear has drum brake and sprocket carrier. The frame is free. The wheels cost me $150 but if someone wants/needs them I'll take whatever for them. Someone may as well get some use other than being clutter.
