Biker culture, politics and general issues.
We've been struggling a bit to get out on the bike. It seems to be harder to find time and good weather here than back home, but at least we're mobile and having fun when weather and work permits. We did a short run today - maybe around 200km's of the Czech Republics dodgy roads (funny to rip round a corner to have to dodge an open hole (winter was a bitch here and the ice has done loads of damage this year). Its feeling great, being back in the seat after 18 months of winters (winter ...
Have been working on the carb, a brand new Keihin 26mm, to make it appear rather more 'retro steampunk' First I added a brass bellmouth made from a cut down brass vase & secured it with some holed brass strap made into a sort of hoseclamp Then I took an old brass fuel cap & drilled/tapped it to take a modded airline fitting then glued it to the original carb top Its OD was a little big so then I made a copper flared flange & riveted it on Lastly I replaced the idle screw ...
This Sunday has to be one of the most eventful days I have ever shared with my KB friends, full of drama, fun, and blue skies! Took my lady Kelly for a ride to martinborough on the KTM, and arranged to meet carla (aka Quasi) at the summit (Taka's of course) to head on down the hill with So we pull up, get helmets off, chat away with a random biker we never met and my mate Matt pulls in with Graheme, a couple of riders I have come to know from the Gladdy circuit these ...

Posted in the forums, putting here as an easy to find record. Tyres fitted @ 14k (4.5k after buying bike) Metzler ME 880 WWW Ok so the sun was out today but it was a little chilly. Wrapped on a couple of merino layers, waited for the Moll to put her war paint and layers on and off we scooted. A nice slow pootle down SH1 over tar hill and onto SH30. Not much traffic, but taking it easy, because for some reason I now had it in my head that the tyres were to a point of ...
We met on the Paihiatua track turnoff at the Antiques shop - a Kawazaki er6n, two aquillas, two shadows, a trumpy and of course a harley, you can't really go anywhere in NZ without one of them showing up We left just after 8am, and set off down highway 57 in dismal - need your wet weather gear - rain. By the time we hit the gorge the weather was looking a bit brighter, and the traffic was minimal. The gorge was fairly good this day (stuff-all grit on the road) and the Harley ...
Well I thought I'd write up a series on how I got my bike so I can have a look back and help someone with all of the mistakes I've made so far with this bike First of all I was having a look on trade me at NC 30s because I had read a lot about them. So far I had gathered they were relatively reliable and fast enough for me (not looking for 600 fast). A long with "awesome" handling these seemed the ticked and after test riding one for the curiosity I was hooked. What took my ...
Does anyone know the full license test route they do at the AA Westgate?
