Thanks to Geordie, boman, greywolf, .... really enjoyed my day out, always wanted to do the Kaiaua loop as a rider, and not pillion, and now I can say I have done it. Loads of bikes out, fantastic weather, and good company. But I heard the Puhoi went off today, even the HA made a appearence, its just that dang motorway gets in the way of a really good country ride... I can't wait to try it on a different bike tho.. (kaiaua). Watch out Raglan you might be my next challenge.
Salutations and hail to thee my personable reader, I am back again with yet another interminable rendition of my eclectic ways of using my bike at any excuse. I must say it was not a very big riding day for me, nor was there much in my day except to enjoy the delivery of a package I had ordered from the internet. 1 day sales is a most disarming site that induces you to willy-nilly open your wallet and purchase the delightful products on offer. In this case, I put in ...
Yet again my fine person of quality that peruses the personal volumes of memoirs that make up the stock within KiwiBiker, I bid you welcome and I hope you are well rested. I find the time to wax lyrical on my rides and I do so appreciate the time and effort that you deign to actually dabble on my diadems of biking discernment. This day once again found me at odd sorts, I had already commenced a full day of housebound chores involving the clearance of unwanted vegetative matter from ...
Well, the day started quite slowly, I was mooching around the demesne as you do wondering what on earth to do with my day. I was content to putter around on the computer doing all sorts of mundane tasks such as emailing, playing online browser games, surfing KB and chatting away to people on MSN. Up pops TOTO who is in the mood for a ride, but not with any particular destination decided upon. Of course he asks me and I blithely blurt out that a Coro loop would be just the ticket for ...
My sister bought a Tardis just before Christmas. Full size, complete with flashing blue light on top. She plans to place it outside the door to our house, so the illusion of smallness may be contradicted by the expanses behind. Mum secretly hopes it will work to revert the forces of entropy that always seem to infiltrate our bedrooms. She will go on hoping. To be perfectly honest, I don’t think Stephen and I need a Tardis. We seem to be followed around by a permanent vortex of watch-warpingness ...
I was up with the roosters this morning. Hit the tarmac as the sun was just burning its way through the clouds on the top of the mountains. The roads were empty, except for the usual possum road kill. Also saw a dead hegdgehog (or porcupine) and sadly someones beloved cat. Loved the way the shadows of the trees and mountains hit the roads and the different colours they brought to my attention. Dug myself a wee little pool to warm up my chilled legs once I got to hot water beach. Got chased ...
Well this day found me doing very much of nothing, being an insouciant biker, I rode my velocity contraption towards the usual pootling place of Maraetai, Whitford and towards Botany Honda. As my Big Ol'Hornet has been outfitted with a Touring Scottoiler (with twin head injectors naturally), it behooves me that it does require filling with decayed dinosaur matter every so often. In the days of yore past, I used to go through my little ritual every 500km or so to spray lubricant onto ...
Stellar ride today. Rode down the 25 from Coromandel to Thames and back. It was just one of those where everything came together perfectly. The sun was shinning, but it wasn't too warm under my leathers. There were cars for a while but they were really descent with letting me pass and so i got to spend most of my time cruising just me , my bike and the road. Ahhhhh....bliss!! The curves and scenery on this route are just stunning...the ocean was shimmering, people were out swimming, sunning ...
