Today saw me making a radiator protector for my baby. I contemplated purchasing the custom made mesh from either ripco or supercheap ($79.99), however each option was far too expensive and far more material than I needed. I had read on a forum here that the Wharehouse had mesh bins ($9.99) and that they served the purpose. So ever the tight arse, I purchased said black bin then went about fashioning a custom radiator protector. One coffee and two ciggis later I stepped back ...

I was keen to go for a ride today, but alas my normal riding companions all had something on. So I checked out kiwibiker, and saw there was a normal Sunday ride starting just north of Auckland from the Caltex on SH16. I'm always a bit cautious about riding with new people, as I'm a bit risk adverse when riding. If someone wants some fun I'd rather they take off ahead, and I'll catch up in my own good time. So I headed over and met up with yachtie10 and outforaduck. ...

If you want to be semi competitive a good second hand last years nationals machine might set you back around 12K to 15k then there’s the spares like levers, clipons, rims fairings, rear sets another 3k, then there’s support gear like leathers, ...
So I said a fond farewell to Pamela on Saturday She's gone off to her new daddy where she is having a sex change, but she/he will will be making an appearance around our Wellington tracks soon hopefully, so it'll be nice to see her/him being thrashed by someone else.
So had my first spill, and come out the other side, scooter has a few scratches, and a clean bill of health from the shop :P (they touched up the paint for free too). I'm back to 100% and saving up and shopping around for a good deal on gear. Decided to go for Cordura jacket and pants (even if I did find a sweet Leather cruiser jacket that fits me like a glove, at Frankton Cash inn if anyone is curious). I can either buy new from www.1tonne.co.nz or try to snipe ...
Today was programmed for a short ride to Lake Ferry, but we figured to go via Ngawi first. Having checked the tyre pressures yesterday I just needed to fill at Caltex Kaiwhara then head to the meeting point at Brown Owl. The weather was great in Ngaio but once I got on the Hutt Road it looked a bit dismal over the Rimutakas. By 1000 there were ten riders assembled for the briefing and I led out on the free ride over the hill. The conditions were OK, with just the odd ...
