Allow me to vent: I ordered the dvd from their website last year. Release date slipped several times by couple of months, then they had some sort of a mixup with mastering that delayed it further... then they finally released it - or so they said, but I never got mine. Immediately after the supposed release their website went dead, so I can't even complain to anyone - hence the need for venting
The only thing that makes me feel a bit better is that reading the comments to that clip it appears nobody else got their dvd either.

At this point all I can say is, Ghost Rider sucks balls.

That's a lame excuse, dying never stopped Elvis, Jimi Hendrix or Jeff Buckley from releasing CDs Well OK, it might excuse Ghost Rider personally, but he didn't work on his own - it was a whole team working on his movies and website. Even if something happened - especially if something happened - someone should post some info on the website. Besides, no matter what happened to Ghost Rider, the dvd was supposedly ready.

So let me correct my statement: Ghost Rider and his entire team suck balls!

He was probably finally apprehended by the authorities and chucked in jail. I mean, you do know he's a criminal, right? If your favorite drug lord got nabbed by the cops before he was able to send out that shipment of dope you ordered, would you say he sucked balls? Well, maybe you would, but it would be a pretty dumb thing to say.

Criminal, that's a bit harsh! A traffic offender for sure, but you know, 'let him who's without blame cast the first stone' and all that... But he did become a criminal once he run this internet scam involving collecting money and not delivering promised goods. And that's sad.

Unless I'm much mistaken, reckless driving and endangering the public are not civil offenses; they are criminal ones. Mild speeding is a civil offense—you can't go to jail for it. Excessive speeding such as he does, however, is a criminal offense because of the danger it puts both rider and other roads users in. You can go to jail for that sort of activity, and any kind of possibility of jail time makes the offense a criminal one, does it not?

Also, you're misapplying John 8:7. I am not setting Ghost Rider up to be trapped in his crime, and neither am I attempting to convict him. Furthermore, I have never, and will never, perform the sorts of antics which he has, and which he sells to his morally dazed fanboys.

Well, I don't perform this sort of antics either, if only because I'm a crap rider - something I freely admit. However I don't think I am morally dazed, in fact I believe my sense of morality is quite keen. Keen enough to recognise that morality and legality are two completely different concepts. I am far more interested in what is moral than what is legal. If we define criminal as strictly legal concept then OK, he might be criminal but that is of most remote interest to me.

Whether his actions are moral is a more interesting argument, and I agree, endangering innocent bystanders for the purpose of amusement and profit is not OK. The question is, how much danger does he actually pose to others? That depends greatly on just how controlled are the circumstances of his stunts, and we really don't know. According to some sources, most of his stunts are actually carefully staged... but again, we simply don't know.

Finally, I don't believe I'm misapplying John 8:7, since these days it is largely used as a parable rather than factual description of judiciary process. I suspect you are well aware of that fact

I don't really care how John 8:7 is used "these days"; I am interested in its actual meaning, which is quite divorced from the meaning you implied. To use it as a parable is all very well, but by doing so you are making an implicit appeal to the Bible as an authority in issues of morality (which it certainly is); but, in that case, you ought not to misapply it and so my criticism stands. If, on the other hand, you don't believe that the Bible is the authority of moral law, then why quote (or misquote) a passage from it in order to support a moral view which you merely hold arbitrarily?

Regarding the law and morality, the law should reflect what is moral. It is a method for judicially punishing immoral behavior. I find it strange at best that you feel these things are unrelated. Certainly they are often not as congruent as they should be (especially in New Zealand), but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be congruent.

    You two, shut up.

    Bloody good clip, cheers orangeback

There's a thread on here somewhere about KB'ers you would most like to meet. I think we need a thread about those that we would not like to meet.....

Well, right.... Bnonn, as much as I would enjoy discussing ethics, religion and politics with you, this is probably not the right place for this. Now, back to the subject of Ghost Rider - does anyone know anything about what has happened to him and why his website went dead?
That's what I was really hoping to achieve... find the answers to those burning questions
