Perfect bike for this chick

A while back I posted a thread asking for advice on bikes for tall chicks. (Im 5ft 9) The response was great. I ended up buying a HD 1200 Sporty. Well I went out heaps and for some reason just felt like this wasnt the bike for me, It felt too light an really awkward. WELL!!!! My hubby bought a 1600cc HD and gave me his FXRS Convertible to use. This is the first Big Block I have ever riden and I LOVE IT. It handles soo much better than my 1200 and I feel more centred on it. I also dig the forward controls. Have been told that sporty's take a while to get used to. I would have to agree as it took me about 1000 km before I felt like i new the bike. On hubbys bike I felt like I had been riding it for years. So, now Im selling my sporty and have a mate who imports harley from the states so am putting my order in soon. Yeehaa.

lucky lucky you.big block....
i'm only5'10 and feel my sporty is about 2-3inches too small for me i'd like to try it with forward controls.maybe one day????.

Putting forward controls on a sportster makes a big difference to the ride style....... also the bars play a major part too. For the taller person a forward control and wide western bars is a good mix, the only problem with cruiser styling is the lower back problems that can occur with a hunched over style of riding......same goes with the big blocks and any other cruiser too.
Solution, some big knarly ape-hangers ???? or a weight lifting belt ??

Mums got a harley davidson xlh 883 lowrider.. its absolutely PERFECT for her and she absolutely loves it...

Its nice when you find a bike that is comfortable for you.. Took me a long time to find something suitable for me..

Good on ya gypsy. It's a great feeling when you get on a bike a feel instantly at home. Good luck.

(Just ignore all the brainless dorks on the pissy litle sprotsbikes, who feel the need to come into the cruiser forum and spray their pathetic intolerance around)

mine isn't pathetic intolerance, I do it for my own personal fun, and for fun at anyone else's expense, including my own... Blame Sidewindow... I followed him into this thread... no, wait... that's wrong... i thought it was one of those bikini threads with pictures... read the thread title: "Perfect bike for this chick" I've only just seen that it's in the Hogs and other cruisers Sub-topic... Apologies for jumping into the cruisers area the way I did

Too right dude. Bought mine new and really hated the riding position - softtail bars and forward controls made ALL the difference. But in any case - every bike needs the personal touch (pink makes mine me! and I dont give a crap what anyone else thinks

) - So good on ya gal - and Touche' DMTD!!
