Hey RM nope not coming tomorrow hence the ride today which was excellent thoroughly enjoyed it even the lovely twisty,gritty,skinny horrible little downhill scrambly road NOT Lol thanks for the tips everyone have taken on board and will endeavor to find every twisty road in Dunners area and get on it lol Mojo raised a few notches noticed i relaxed heaps once i left the group prolly a bit tense after twisty road but that will ease with time thanks Glenys and NH for your neverending patience and mentoring you guys rock

Enjoyed the ride guys, gotta get some warm rideing gear still defrosting here! and the shocks are so much better thanks dont get thrown off the bike over bumps now ! the twisty road ( my god ) have to do some more corner practice for sure but not straight away thanks ! my neighbour was a bit embaressed backing her tariler with a bikey convention as she put it watching her LOL

We're doing a ride through .... just go back a couple of pages and you'll find it. Meet at Southern Dairy in Milton at 11am, the Dunedin riders are grouping up at Free2B's place at 10am. Lawrence for lunch b4 heading inland for the rest of the ride (about a 100km loop back to Lawrence)

I'm with ya there Midnight we will have to get together find a big carpark one down from your place would be good and we will practice our slow cornering before seeking out some gnarly twisty roads to put our practice to use glad the shock change helped i forgot to ask how it felt!!! just takes a bit of tinkering and you can find the right level for your weight still haven't figured mine out yet lol..... should have changed mine too at the time see what difference i could feel! (next time) gald it finally panned out so you could get out and about great to have you along and bike looks and sounds great... lookin forward to many more rides

i went to milton to meet up and see them off but couldnt go on the ride and can report they they got away around 11:15 ish

We were told in Lawrence on our way back that a biker had come to grief at the Clarkesville Junction (start of SH8 just South from Milton) and had been helicoptered away - don't know anything about it but it wasn't one of us.

We had a great ride. After lunch in Lawrence we went up to Millers Flat, over the Clutha and up to the Roxburgh dam, back down to Roxburgh with a brief fruit stall stop and for a fuel top up for those who needed it. Then we turned off before Ettrick and took the backroad along the base of the hill to join the road up to Moa Flat. I think I was the only one who had ridden this road - by the time we got to the top everyone was grinning - then down to Heriot, back through to Crookston and to Raes Junction to retrace our ride back to Lawrence for a coffee.

Daffyd left us at Lawrence to go home via Tuapeka West (another great ride)

After a bit of a discussion over the merits of learning to ride on Trail bikes we went back to my place and Delphinus had a go on a good learners riding area which has a few jumps and more challenging climbs for when your confidence rises - which sometimes rises faster than the current skill level!!!! - apparently NH and Free2b will have some photos to explain.

They all left here about 5:20 - and the casserole in the crockpot (which they could have stayed for!!) was just perfect, even if I do have to say so myself.

All in all a good days ride on some great sealed backroads - lots of wonderful corners which while the T/A and the 2 sports bikes got round these quicker, the two cruisers were always only a few moments behind when we stopped to regroup. This certainly allowed everyone to ride at a speed they wanted to without either getting frustrated or pushing faster than they wanted - and still stay as a group. The radar detector picked up one HP just out of Roxburgh in a plain clothes commodore and another one pulled in while we were getting the fruit - so they are out there, thank goodness for the backroads where you can have some fun without needing excessive speed.

I can only support what Ruralman has said...Great ride, great company.
( And I'll bet my C/Pot casserole was better than his!) All in all I covered 394kms for the day, so a good chance to blow the cobwebs out. Settling down to watch the V8s now so it's going to be a long night.

You have no idea of how good my casserole is - we need to have an independant volunteer to sort this out I feel - do we then need to go to the "Angels" section to swap recipes

sounds like a great day. i ended up with a bit on my plate this W.E. i thought i'd get through everything and make time for a ride, but old Murphy of course had other ideas.
