    Biker gangs? lol

Has anyone else had someone make a joke or rude comment or ask a question if you are in a biker gang? Their reasoning being because you are either an angry person, like cruisers, or both. (I choose number 3 )

I had someone make a rude joke in a message they didn't think I would see

"be careful, i heard hes a member of a biker gang or sumthin like that. LOL "

What's other peoples thoughts on the origin or associations underlying it?

I think theres also an assumption if theres a few people riding together they are a "gang".

    Dictionary.com -

    1. a group or band: A gang of boys gathered around the winning pitcher.
    2. a group of youngsters or adolescents who associate closely, often exclusively, for social reasons, esp. such a group engaging in delinquent behavior.
    3. a group of people with compatible tastes or mutual interests who gather together for social reasons: I'm throwing a party for the gang I bowl with.
    4. a group of persons working together; squad; shift: a gang of laborers.
    5. a group of persons associated for some criminal or other antisocial purpose: a gang of thieves.
    6. a set of tools, electronic components or circuits, oars, etc., arranged to work together or simultaneously.
    7. a group of identical or related items.
    –verb (used with object)
    8. to arrange in groups or sets; form into a gang: to gang illustrations for more economical printing on one sheet.
    9. to attack in a gang.
    –verb (used without object)
    10. to form or act as a gang: Cutthroats who gang together hang together.
    —Verb phrase
    11. gang up on, Informal. (of a number of persons) to unite in opposition to (a person); combine against: The bigger boys ganged up on the smaller ones in the schoolyard.

Apparently - I'm a scary guy. Coz I wear my leathers while riding (and immediately after). I have actually been warned at work about being intimidatory... I should (apparently) be in a gang... if I'm not already... WTF???

Yeah, I wear my leathers all the time.. might be because I ride all the time

I get pissed off easily, but still... yes.. I got a bike and leathers + me and my friends are gonna bash your head in if you say anything about me. The maths doesn't add up - they are not a pair like my left and right socks.

You and me cola... me and you can be in a new national gang. I vote for the name "Ride Or Die"

Seen it, Heard it, Lived it
Having a mate living in a prospect house, mixing with prospects & patched members of a certain ChCh gang, running errands for certain members of said gang, heading out for a nights drinking and having 3-4 patched members invite themselves along, and spending all your time leather clad & riding totally anti social bikes does lead to people making comments

Well, I am but a sweet, simple ,gentle, old man, quietly chuffing through the countryside, yet I have had people abuse me, "you and your biker gang mates". So there is hope for the rest of you.

Can't say I have much of that problem - but then I am a Glaswegian so I'm prolly a gang all by myself.

I try to tone down the image by riding an Italian bike though

At the end of the day - fukem - don't worry what other people think, they don't do it often.

Yes, but that can lead to confusion in whether we are a troop of homosexual prostitutes. There may be a need for a national gang of them, but it wasn't what I had in mind

People like to think that. They like to imagine exciting stuff. Was accused of it once (being an associate), unexpectedly. I can hardly remember ever being so angry in my life. That prolly convinced them I was but they were as wrong as it gets. I dunno, Kiwis seem to have a morbid fascination. KB if not a gang is a what - association, society - not a group with an antisocial purpose is it.

    I can't say I've every heard that and I ride a Harley.
It is surprising how many people know the difference between a "biker" and a "bikie", especially among those who are a little longer in the tooth.

Maybe you just work with fuckwits.
