Ha! Yeah...I know...cheesey aye? The whole vid was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek. I mean....let's face it...a CB13 isn't the sexiest of bikes to feature in a biking vid. But music wise, it was a toss up between the Ramones version or Chris Spedding's original. The Ramones' punk flavour won!

Not being familiar with Windows Movie Maker, I can't really say, Doc.
But the main secret to successfull movie making is planning. You are basically telling a story, so plan it well in advance. Shoot exactly what you need rather than hoping you'll get something "good enough". Importantly, let the subject do the moving, not the camera.

As for music, you should be able to select a music track and import it from any source whether it be CD or actually stored on your PC.

I selected the music track and then pre-edited the other sound effects (garage door, passing bike FX etc). The final mixed sound was imported into iMovie and I cut my video footage to the music. You could say it was easy to do but I worked with the BBC in London for 17 years...although not in editing...and so I have a pretty good idea what I want to achieve and how to achieve it. Others with less experience may find complex video editing a bit daunting and frustrating. But above all it's fun and even the simplest movie made by junking the crap and adding music to your shots can be great to watch and show your mates.

That was impressive! Interesting Idea hang the camera out the side! Maybe turn it around and get some knee down footage

Hey that's cool mate Great vid.

Manfrotto is handled by T A Macalister Ltd, wholesalers and importers of Nikon equipment as well. Photo Warehouse or Camer & Camera will stock them or can get them,
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Where's Zapf? I thought he'd be all over this like carnage from chilli con carne!

Quite inspiring what you've done here - I think you should be nominated for making "KB : The movie"

First of all, thanks for all your kind comments. I'll let you know when the National Film and TV Production Awards are on....lol

Personally, I can see the flaws in it, and it's very easy to be self-critical after the event...but I could have spent ages fine-tuning it and honing it into a work of art. Instead I just cut what footage I had (despite wanting to go out and shoot more when I realised what was missing!) and in answer to ruphus'

The shooting happened over two runs into the Wairarapa but didn't take more than an hour. (In fact getting there and back took longer than shooting!)

The editing took me about ten hours. I did it all the same day.

The soundtrack took less than an hour to mix. And in reply to you, Trudi...

That cool sound was in fact courtesy of a certain Mr Schumacher!! The CB sounded like a wet fart on camera! Silent but deadly!

When shooting on board shots, it's very easy to shoot far too much.
Most of my shots were far too long and got boring, (once you've seen one set of twisties from the riders' POV you have seen 'em all) which is why I opted to shoot cut-away detailed close-ups of brake discs, wheels, chain & sprockets etc as well as off-board stuff). It's those unusual shots that retain the viewers interest.
So a lot of my road shots ended up on the cutting room floor.
As Felix (Zapf) says...the shots were basically simple, and that is important. Another mistake people make is to use far too many cheesey transitions, effects and clever graphics just because "they can"... all of which detract from the subject matter itself. Not good in my view. Over use of wacky effects just smacks of trying to polish a turd. Finally, keep it short. Overlength amateur movies can be as tiresome as getting out your holiday snaps.

As for "KB: The Movie"...now there's a challenge!
