Steam the tire pressures on the tyres are usually MAX load. Use the manufacturers (Honda) pressures as a starting point. I use Cheng Shin C906 / C907 Himax Tires

on my ol gal and they're not given me any greif at all wet or dry and run about 6psi psi more than recommended, so 30 front and 34 rear solo. I'm sure the Ashurst crowd will back me up when I say they do the job just nicely.
But go for what you are comfortable with though as it's your hide you are protecting after all.
Took the evil twin into get a warrent/rego today. Both front indicators were blinking dimly at the same time. Fault turned out to be corroded connctors in the LH switch assy block connector sorted by a liberal coating of contact cleaner (well I used brake cleaner which was isopropol alcomahol based "hic!!", cheap cunt I am).
So all legal and ready to role for the next few months.
Edit-turned out one of the contacts in the switchblock had worn and an earth was a tad corroded as well. Had a spare switch block off another old Honda I flogged a contact from. Now all sorted both sides going blickity blink-blinkity blink in pairs independently.
Hopefully this old scanned photo of my Maggot will show up.
Circa 1982, old Whanganui river road. The dude in the back ground is a Canadian who was doing some of the walking tracks.
Check out the "WICKED" wool lined mittens.![]()
The cx never gave an ounce of trouble, and besides the gentle ribbing that you had to put up with, life with "THE TRUCK" was easy peasy.![]()
Oh my, lookie, a TURBO!
I also hear the guy at Buckets N Bits in Wellington has a complete but partially disassembled CX650 Turbo in the shed.

Determined to kill my bike before it kills me
Been there done that, and Id buy another in a flash... that TC is very tidy and priced reasonly well, mine cold for $6500.
The 650TD is a beter alrounder bike over the 500TC, it is the fastest turb just beating the GPZ750, Honda learnt a few things from there over kill on the 500 and deleted a lot of shit like serge tanks etc, the 650 was only ever a import to NZ and I rode the Australaisers 1st in the 80's. 150cc more ment the lag the 500 suffered from was not as bad. (I modified the muflers and turbo which helped a lot)
cheers DD
(Definately Dodgy)
Heh, everything about that bike loudly proclaims "I AM AN 80's MOTORCYCLE"
White colour, that awesome muffler, those gold rims, the orange on the fairing, the chunky styling... and the owner's singlet.

Phwoar! Madness! A chop with a difference.
But what's up with those sleeves?
Got another rear wheel (reverse comstar this time) via tardme. Was really only after the drive gear for my current spare wheel, so the rest will be scraped eventually.
In this cooler weather she's taking a bit to get going so must remember to put on the battery on the trickle charger every now and again for these 6:30am starts.
Popped into a mates for a cuppa after work today and couldn't help mentioning how comfy the evil twin is on those longer rides. I've been toying with the idea a total strip rebuild, but to be quite honest I'm having a barrel load of fun riding it as it is. A bit more surface rust has developed but that's not surprising as it's out in all weathers during the day by an airport. Could park it next to the offices I suppose, a couple of hundred yards away, but I'm worried it may do naughty things to the scooters parked there.
Time for another filter change I notice too. Managed to get my grubby mitts on a hardcopy OEM workshop manual at last. Trademe to the rescue again. Nothing like hard copy to refer to at a moments notice. That's if I can remember were I put it![]()
