The sweeper will ride behind the slowest rider. That rider need not worry about holding them up cos they are there to help and it is their responsibility to look after the last rider. The sweeper should back off if the rider in front looks uncomfortable.QUOTE]

I think i did a good job of being the sweeper till Spieghts_bud became the sweeper and i became the slowest rider.

Yep thats a good idea Steve haveing a sweeper, as long as the regulars take turns, I think we need to be aware of the slower riders. There's nothing more discourageing for slower riders if they think they are holding the run up but that should not be the case, if they try to push it could happen. I get head rushes sometimes and got to blast off but if I'm sweeper then cool I'll look after the tail end. sweeper shouldnt get pinged

Thoroughly enjoyed yesterday's ride. Good to see some new faces too.
Had a lovely 'pootle' up the Annie today with Canarlee.....HEADS UP.... the gravel warning sign is no longer there when the seal runs out. Not cool coming out of the sun, into the shadow and deep loose gravel at 90kph. A brown trouser moment!!!! Kept it together, although I really don't know how. Keeping OFF the brakes, closed throttle is probably how??
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Was great to have Lance and speights_bud along. That is a nice bike BUBBLE. Nice to chase it and see what a real Zuki looks like. Gota love the paint job man. Thanks for the wedges by the way.
I enjoyed chasing Lance, Speights_bud and Bubble home. Was funny to see you with all your bits tucked down below the screen to get as much speed outa the old 250 as you could Speights_bud. You ride well. Was a good ride.
Hope everyone got home ok. Sorry we took off but I needed to get home and I wanted to watch my boy ride.
    Thanks everyone.
Cheers all for the good ride yestersday, havn't been on my bike much in the last couple years, doing the family thing, took it in for a WOF before Cold Duck and according to the WOF sheet its only done 2000k's in 18 months. Had fun with the pace that Lance set on the way home, touring tires on a sports bike not the best combination with the back wheel moving around a bit on a few corners, should prob check tire pressures too, been 18mths since I put tires on and that was the last time I checked tire pressure.
Speights_bud rides well for a little bike, got a bit worried when he wasn't still behind me at the end of one corner, turned round and went to look for him, he had stopped to check tires cos he thought he had a flat, it was a slippery corner under those trees.
Im not the Ghost Rider, he rides too slow.

I didn't have my good luck charm on the back this week. You might have to come back Stichchick to keep us safe.

Kahuranaki Road was a nut cruncher with all the road ripples but I suppose that makes it interesting.
I was following both of you in third place and lets just say it looked even more 'interesting' from where I was, BigG was brushing blades of grass as he ran wide but made a great save. Wish I had taken my helmet camera.

    My turn this weekend.

Will be bringing the missus's boy. He'll be on the 250, so I'll keep him out of your hair at the back.
Mind you he's had it up to 150 trying to keep up with me......
I tended to forget about the power difference.

You're Game thats a long ride on the gravel to the Annie, doesnt that stuff your tyre's? cos its sharp stones on that bit of road. I took the dirt bike up there on the trailer to Robsons Lodge and nearly lost the trailer on that metal, it makes the loose gravel on the road on Sat a dream to be on.

Sounds like I missed another good ride. Nearly made it on Saturday but had some visitors arrive just as I was wheeling the bike out. Haven't seen them for a while so thought it would be rude to do a runner, even if they only came to meet our little one. Fingers crossed for next weekend.

The ideas for the sweeper gets my vote Steve. Willing to do my bit as well. I don't mind riding sweeper. It's a good way to keep the behaviour in check ..... usually.

It was Absolutely Awesome!!!!! I have never seen my Dad emotional except when a young family friend took his own life. My Dad was a blubbering mess and it started the rest of us off hehehehe. He had his workmates there and also ALL his living brothers and sisters and uncles and aunties etc.

Stories were told, everyone had a good laugh and a great time. I stayed sober and mingled to get everyone talking to people they don't know etc.

Would you believe my Dad let his best friend do a "William Tell" with an apple on Dad's head using a Dart while intoxicated...Now thats what I call a great friendship...Lucky to say that Uncle John missed Dads head....he also missed the apple too

Went and saw my bike as well...Col is doing a fantastic job on it!!! He is da man

Mary Mooo recons you will have that for the next 6 months.
    Talking from experience she is.
It is a good thing. I recon you might have to give me your bike to make sure it gets a run from time to time. Mind you I like the zuki stuff so maybe you should give it to Speights_bud.
