What do they do? is it just extra reeds in there in a w configuration that helps air flow or something? Does it give you better power? I've just seen some on tardme for my bike for $100.

Supposedly redirects the airflow (via its aerodynamic shape) more directly into the crankcase to stop the (heavier) fuel particles from flying to the edge of the intake charge and separating out. Used with Boyesen carbon reeds but is a separate item (basically a whole new intake manifold). You have to rejet a little leaner. I didn't really notice any effect from mine but I guess others may. Boyesen had some pretty impressive looking dyno results on their site. Snake oil?
rad valves are pretty old school, V force is the go these days, they have twin sets of reeds (2 v's)
both require rejetting, and to be honest i would not bother,
do you need more HP?
Not really, just wondering what the deal is with them.
I put one on my 97 KX250 and liked it and would buy one again.
I did not have to re-jet and it smoothed out the power band and gained a bit more everywhere.
And the bike was easier to ride because of this.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

There are alot of highly educated idiots out there.
I'm confused. Are you guys talking about reed valves? Or are rad valves something completly different?
cheese an easyer way to get more power from your bike would be to open the throttle a bit![]()
You can or could just buy reeds.
Most buy both as a set as they work better.
I have a long winded Vid about them in between MX races.
The block has vanes in side it to help with flow and is a bit strighter to also help with flow.
If I buy another two stroke bike I would buy one again as they impressed me as a good thing to get more and even power.

On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
when we next go for a ride cheese, if my 125 goes faster then your 250 then you need to listen to boom.
But i have to get mine going first.
grow some balls first cheese!![]()
"Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity"
LOL Cam you would probably beat me on a CR80.
I don't think I need more power as at ardmore the other day my bike was wheel standing on most straight anyway.
Booom - Thanks for that. Bastard......
