A really good question. I am on for nearer high noon when the icicles have gone - over the hill, run around Gladstone and coffee in Martinborough. So I might see those who make it on the road.
    Here for the ride.

Id be keen for a noon departure time dennisr,
its extremely frosty here in Upper Hutt, i live pretty much around hte corner from the caltex, Wainui Hill road has been closed according to police due to ice so the Rimutakas would be pretty icy too.
Even our house decks are iced over, and its frickin cold up here.

So - Is it a postponement until 12 noon with a meet at Caltex?

I'm not too keen to venture out on the two wheels until some (or even better - all) of that white stuff lying around has gone! Roads are bad enough with the crap that gets dropped without also risking hitting black ice.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

well the 10am left as scheduled - about 5-6 bikes,

Spoke to Buckbuck at Rimutex and hes keen to come for noon departure.
Lots of bikes out today too - Buckbuck and i headed as far as Kaitoke Gardens and on the way back to Rimutex had about 10 bikes scattered through the traffic heading to Rimutakas.

Man its great to see the sun again.

Well the noon departure group had a nice little ride, BuckBuckNo1, Dennisr, Sels1 and myself headed over to Martinborough(where Hawkeye joined us) then decided once we got there that we may as well head to Carterton - Wild Oats Cafe, was busy as hell but was a good feed and the comapny was great too.
Then cruisy ride back to Upper Hutt. Rimutakas were very nice, did notice a bit of broken glass bottle in the middle of the road of one of the corners on Upper Hutt side. Even though the sun was shining it was still quite cool especially on the return trip the hill was very cold.

Cheers for the company today guys, my little 250cc was very happy to pootle along with the bigger boys for the day.

Well it wasn't tooo bad ovet the rimutakas at 10.00. Quite dry and clear. Joined a couple of triumph riders for a spin round the wairarapa. Managed to lose my missus (sweetp) as she missed the turnoff to Martinborough. Chased her up the road for a bit but couldnt find her. Took the long way back to Martinboro for coffee. Got txt from sweetp...she headn home (as she had washing and chores to do). Did the long block around the stacks and back via gladstone and carterton. All up about 250km! Boy trundled along behind on his Hyosung 250. Saw plenty of bikes out after lunch on the return trip.

Nice day and lots of really nice bikes. Three unmarked HP cars on trip - you fast guys and girls need to be careful.
    Here for the ride.

    Temperature Difference in 2 Hours

First ride up to Rimutex arriving at 10am with numb fingers,

Second ride arriving at 11.45am and no chill factor.

A blue dome day, good ride and company.

    Heads Up and Enjoy

Come on guys....it was a great day for a ride. I was in Pongaroa by midday and got home after 7 tonight. The pace wasn't always 'cruisy' and there was little time for stops and coffees....but I felt the urge to scrub the new tyres in!!???...I think I'll have to do it again because I missed a bit on the sides.

A brief rundown here if you're interested,
