I left valve in place and removed the actual flap..rather than blocking off
the vacum hose.

Actually better than I expected, not as good as the original but still pretty good.
Wattage is sweet, High/Low both 55w, whereas if my memory serves me right the OEM one was 55W low and 65W high. Just make sure you get the DOT approved one, otherwise the non DOT ones are 35W I think.
Precisely. Although obviously I now realise that was pointless! I guess it can stay as it is no point changing it back as it won't be doing anything now......

The bulb in it when i swapped it was a +30% 55/60,heaps better than stock.

If you want a great deal, as has already been said, you need to sit on the phone and get the various sellers to out bid each other.
