Been messing with Gonzo this weekend. beefed up the bracket for the ventura rack (piece of shit thing), wired up the socket for the GPS & attempted to change what assorted sized access bolts there were to hex head.
Any way I had to take the nearly full fuel tank off & shit what a weight. 25kgs of top heaviness...
A couple of side fuel tanks 10litres each molded around the frame would be a brilliant idea I reckon. Use the old one for a mooring somewhere.

what would be helpful is to find a way of knowing exactly how much is in that fat tank so you could go on a knarly ride with only x litres confident you weren't going to run out of gas

    They heavy aye.

Went for a hoon up central road today to test out the new rear tyre. Found some good tracks up to the left, but was being logged and got a stick stuck in me rear spokkes which then munted the chain guard which I could not remove cos the 10mm spanner was on the bench after fixing mrs woodmans car yesterday Anyway had to bend it into shape and after a while it stopped making rubbing noises.

After that my toolkit fell off and got tangled round the back wheel and I lost a tyre lever and the special klr plastic toolbox thingy, and unlike padmei try as I might it couldn't be found.

Good ride though and got some airtime and stayed upright for the whole ride.

    Mate you're a classic

BTW there is a guy around the corner with a pile of KLR spares under his house. Not sure what's there but lots of stuff but the frame... If anyone's after something I'll PM his cell.

I try now to have the tank only 1/2 full at most for MX type stuff- you know just the usual huge whips & heel clicks over the bars etc

I filmed the airtime and will u tube it when I get back

Nordie will be up central looking for the toolkit to build his klr, and he is not to use that guys klr bits that are under his house.

Interested to see wot the guy has under his house, maybe we could compare bits.

I think the specific gravity of petrol is about .86, which makes it .86 of a kilo per liter.
I could be wrong though, it has happened once before
