Previous owner doesn't know anything about it, and has lost contact with the owner before him. It looks sweet as, Going on assumption (which you know what they say about it) if the engine stuffed itself then you'd probably open it up to have a look at what happened, surely you wouldn't put it back together broken though.
Then again, it's a risk.

Tonight I'm going to check out a Suzuki GS450. The guy says it has spark but may there be a carb jet blockage and he's replaced the master cylinder.
Fingers crossed this could be the project![]()

Good luck Luana.
Ok here it is!!!!!!
geestring and I are now the proud owners of a Suzuki GS450 T 1981. Take a good look because you are not going to reconise it in weeks to come. This is the Rat Bike of year, it will stripped, ripped and re-built.
No time consuming cleaning, washing, polishing, adding shiny parts that do nothing. None of that, forget about it!
You will all see the machine of death take you out at Cold Kiwi!!!! It will eat it the hill and burn the rubber like seen you've never seen before. We will shame you. See you there - Cold Kiwi get ready you've been warned.
Ratty GS4fiddy is on it's way!!!!!![]()

As it is it's 110/90-17, like most small things not very useful.
Geestring she's the mechanic modifier from hell has got big plans for the back tyre department. But as mentioned earlier on this thread we are open to all suggestions and if assisted you will be credited somewhere on the bike.

Who out there knows anything about a 1981 GS450 engine?
On closer inspection of our project there seem to be a few pieces missing. Is there is anyone who has worked on an engine like this before or who is mechanical minded who could come and take a look for us?
Our workshop is in Papakura.
