Something to to make you envious

I joined the North Island invaders on Sat morning for the Big River ride. Thanks to gentle encouragement and advice to lower tyre pressure in the Strom's stock Trialwings, I made it! Here are some pics to whet your appetite. No doubt there'll be heaps more posted when the team get back.

    We're Back!...well some of us...

With no rear brake shoes left and only one set on the front still working on the Africa I decided to make a bee line for Blenheim...only to then have the speedo fail as well! sheesh! took zerax and I 3 hours from reefton to blenheim by road - we skipped all the juicy bits given the state of my bike.

It was a truly magnificent weekend ride though - great company all round and a range of terrain to test us all on. None of the photos I have are worth posting (camera phone) but Eddie and Fran and a couple of others should have some good pics and Padmei should have some good video.

Big thanks to Mark for making it all happen and to everyone else for the camraderie!

There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.
