The complete price was 9,200 US$ incl. shipping, tax paid and registration
(Foreign Currency Indicative Rate as at: 29-05-2009).
$0.6637 dollars = $1 NZ Dollar
$9,200 dollars = $13,861.68 NZ Dollars

The Canning Stock Route can wait until next year,it was supposed to be this month but times are tough.

My DR was over NZ$10000 in Jan 08,Rego is over NZ$800 per year
There is no way i would want to add up how much now.

Will be very interested to hear the effects of the exhaust mods (and maybe rejetting) on fuel economy, which is of course a major factor when one is plotting an assault on the Canning.

This is Australia you get shafted for everything.take off NZ$1200 if not bought in the NT.
Not forgetting the closest major cities to me are over 3000kms-Adelaide/3500kms-Brisbane/4000kms-Perth away.

Add another AU$6500 + to get it in full desert raid trim not including USD forks.

I left all my riding gear back in NZ so add another AU$1900 for a full kit.

I had looked at a new KTM 640 ADV at i think AU$13000+ to complex and would have still needed setting up to carry a load.
I think a BMW 650GS was around AU$17000 + ORC same cost as the BMW 800GS now.

I had never given the total cost to much thought to date,who cares you only live once.

You're certainly "investing" in your machine mate! Like you said tho, you only live once and gettin the bike to where you want it to be kitted out is cool for sure!

hi TDLV8.

did you get a new safari tank.

i think your last one was leaking around the rear mounts.

i fitted new fuel taps to mine and made a new front tank brace.
