What is the topbox made out of? Looks a bit like a plastic float or a barrel of some sort.

I think it's an old gas cylinder although it may be the pressure surge tank from a pumped domestic water system.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

    thats hideous!

    but...ingenious, affordable, and environmentally sound!

    Well done that man!

Actually that sort of falls into the same area as men wearing pink...they don't dare if they are not secure in their sexuality!

This fella is obviously not the type that needs flashy shit to feel good about himself.

That's brilliant. Just plug up the topbox / aka cylinder and fill with fuel for better range on those island tours. The fairing and visor can be removed at night as a form of bivouac shelter. Excellent multi-purpose thinking.

A 2009 Kawasaki Concours 1400. A gazillion horsepower, nimble precise handling, ABS, outstanding comfort, integrated capacious luggage, and an electric windscreen.

Nice "Ned kelly" bike... for the outlaw in you.

This one below is another conversion that I'd be tempted to buy and road legal it because it's just so... well... open road tourerish.

It does look like an LPG tank (the top box) though tat would be quite heavy. An alternative is the air-con gas (freon?) tanks that are a lot thinner, and not refillable, so should be cheap-to-free from an air-con shop.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

    That's cool.

Not the most attractive of setup options but brilliant, unique and fun nonetheless.

    Well done.
