    KTM 950 tail rack/top plate

I've just had a tail rack laser cut from 4mm alloy for my KTM 950 Adv by Prometal Industries here in Chch. Cost me $50 instead of closer to $150 to import one. I still have to make/get made spacers, countersink the bolts and fillet the edges. I drew this and have file a if anybody wants a copy to get one made. Alternatively I can probably get another one made if you don't have access to a firm that does laser cutting.

Not sure if it will fit a 640 as well but if you give me some measurements for the mounting points I'll modify the design. I could probably do other stuff as well if not too time consuming.

    Cheers R

    Thanks Ryan

While no use to me seeing as I'm not orange people doing this sort of shit rocks. I wouldn't have been able to easily do my recent brake upgrade if Igor hadn't posted up the plans for the adapter bracket required.

Thanks Eddie. I've always had a bit of a bent for tinkering and get a buzy from doing it. Figured I'd done the work now and it came out pretty damn good so silly not to share. Seems my ruller works not too bad - 8.5mm holes for 8mm shank bolts i.e. bugger all room if I miss measured something, and it went on perfectly. Pretty stoked about that!

Can you take those pics again without the plate on, please?

The 640A has a bar rack integral with the grab handles, so your front bolt points don't exist.
    Cheers,
    Colin

More pics of the tail with and without the plate. You can see the mounting points are not on the same plain hence the need for spacers - read lots of filing (not that hard) cause I don't have a lathe.

Also some pics for you Pampa. No the bike is not orange (well it is orange hearted), it is a nice blue one

    Cheers R

I paid the dosh and got the Touratech one from Germany. It was expensive but works well. This is very similar apart from the fact that mine has a lip on one edge.
I would be very keen to have one made or even copy the exisitng one I have now. I have fitted it to the Husaberg, so I do need one for the 640A. I would think that maybe 10mm wider or so might be better for luggage? Plenty of tie down points and it is nice and light.
    The price is awesome!
    Nice work....
Laser cutters in the Waikato, I am sure there are some here but not out in this neck of the woods...
