That is true...although I must say(you might not like this james sorry) but if you don't know the road, take your time, don't try and keep up with the people who do.Thats what Spazm was there for, and THANKYOU MAN!! I Didn't know any of the roads up until Tauranga direct and thats why I was at the back most of the time. It was still fun though

Hehe yeah I had seen your post regarding those!, and you got your bike home!

I want to do a ride through there in summer through to Tga one day, I do not know a way to loop the Rotoma's without going around that small lake on the gravel!, and I am not too kean on gravel, It slows me down something cronic. I was trying to put a route togeather the same as the lakes run acually but include Rotoma and stop at a cafe down there.

There are some nice roads around Rotorua a bit further south that I would like to concour. However the rides are quite far from Hamilton its a bit of a pain! because they must be done!

yeah...wasn't riding before because of lack of funds and the bike wasn't legal/running well...finally managed to get it sorted and paid for then someone backed their car into it while it was parked the next day

his insurance is paying since i don't have any and it's no excess but being it's done through insurance i'm sure it won't be back straight away, all just cosmetic damage from the looks of things...i'm going to visit the shop tomorrow and see how it's progressing, the weather was just to nice last Sunday to just be sitting around

Start to give them a wriggle on. They're still getting paid so they have it done quicker. I don't get why insurance jobs take so long. I can understand parts getting sent in but still...

You might miss out on all the good weather breaks

Thats one of the advantages of riding with a group, there's roads you never knew existed!

Aw dude, that sucks... i agree with ckai - you should push them a bit... if the insurance company said they will fix it then they will fix it and they will definitely pay so you don't need to wait???

Of course you presume we knew that? And we had well cleared the road works when she came off. In fact her coming off had nothing to do with road works, and you know that.

Sun? WTF are on about? I didn't have the sun in my eyes at any stage over there? It was mid day.

I agree - that's been argued to death on kiwibiker, most just want to put their heads in the sand and absolve themselves of blame

If you think that's the dodgiest road in the North Island, then you haven't been around much.
Be realistic though - it was an open invite, we're not babysitters or some kind of club, who's got the right to tell someone to go home if they turn up for a ride??
That would be like me saying to you; why did you let your un-licensed girlfriend borrow your new un-insured motor bike and go for a ride that was clearly posted as going thru Pyes Pa? Where's your responsibility?
Or did you have as much say in it as we did

Your obviously so far up your self thinking we must be a bunch of rejects and retards who can't get girlfriends?

We ride OUR ride, and that is governed by the competence of the newest or least experienced and if we don't feel like going slow, we just don't invite the snails.
And you think this ride was any different ?
Coming from a person who doesn't even have a bike license?
    Who wasn't there?

There were some 'faster riders' (not that fast though) but there were a bunch of slower riders including the one who came off, and from what I could tell they were taking it pretty casually - speed was certainly not a factor in coming off. She came off on a sealed downward tight corner with some corrugations on it, doing no more than about 70 kl/hr, hitting an oncoming vehicle that was slightly infringing on her lane. Yet she didn't even seem to get a scratch on her! Speed certainly wasn't a factor, she wasn't following anyone at the time, or trying to keep up, so that wasn't a factor, no sun in her eyes, so that wasn't a factor.

    Inexperience perhaps

    Shit happens

Your pissed because your bike got wasted - who let her jump on an uninsured bike with no license ? not us.

Deal with it, shove you finger up your own arse instead of pointing it at any of us
Lifes Just one big ride - buckle up or hang on

Come on people as said before:

For the people concerned and before this thread descends into chaos and things get said in the heat of the moment, can we please keep comms about this in PM's please.
So before 1/2 the thread ends up being moderated out lets move on.

    I'll start;

Who's got an idea for a route sunday week? I've got a stack that we've done before and a handful we haven't.

    Suggestions?

I vote for the routes we haven't done. Do some recon work before summer hits. Going on what road conditions were like last year, I'm thinking I'm gonna be hammering the bike in Spring and not full-on Summer. Riding molten tar sucks so I'm gonna be getting in my money's worth early.

So some fresh routes would be tasty. Unless the mountain calls
