Greymouth Street Race 20th Anniversary

That was my first ever road race and I was looking over pics of that just recently.....Good times!

Speaking of pics. Our club secretary, Peter Toal is looking for some photos of the street race. especially ones from late 80's early 90's. He has started a Facebook Group for people to add pics so if you have some good ones from the early days or some good pics of significants then logon to facebook and post them on there for him. He plans to have a slideshow set up at prizegiving. A few of the characters in the pits would be good, showing the human element as well as the machines. Pete has already put a few up, its interesting how little in the way of safety fences there was back in the day.

Good news, after 3 months of waiting it looks like we finally have a permit number from MNZ, its verbal at this stage, just waiting on written confirmation then the entry and advertising can start. No posters or advertising is allowed without displaying the permit number. we got a slap on the hand a few years back.
